| #1 Posted on 24.6.05 1735.50 Reposted on: 24.6.12 1737.40 | MTV2 is bringing back CELEBRATY DEATH MATCH. 8 episodes are being made and they're waiting to see how it does before making any more.
The BATMAN series will be getting a new boxed set in October. Tim Burton is recording new commentary tracks for BATMAN and BATMAN RETURNS and Schumacher is doing the same for his two. This will be out 2 weeks before BATMAN BEGINS comes out on DVD.
Season two of DR. WHO will probably be the last for Billie Piper, who plays Rose, but David Tennant is signed on for two seasons as the new DOCTOR.
Dreamworks has an 'expanded' version of GLADIATOR coming out, but this looks like it'll be worth it. There's a new documentary on Oliver Reed AND they've gotten Russell Crowe to do a commentarrt track for it. THAT's worth $24.99 right there.
SCI-FI will start airing FIREFLY next month. Let's hope they put them back in order...
FUTURAMA Returns! Fox has given the go ahead for straight to DVD films (Three planned so far!), thanks to the 'healthy' DVD sales of the boxed sets.
September 9th is when the LOST DVD set comes out. Don't know if anyone here actually CARES about it or anything... (joke!) That OTHER ABC show, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, comes out a month earlier.
And for you cheap asses out there, Walmart recently lowered prices on a bunch of boxed sets. You can get BUFFY Season #1, ER Season #1, Angel Season #1 and more for under $30.00. Also, in the 2 for $11 bins, I found discs with the first two episodes of The PRETENDER, 24, BUFFY, and the first four episodes of MARY TYLER MOORE. Cool!
Here's a little list of things that may already be out, or will be in the next few months or so...
The Best of HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE (Not the new series but the old series from Filmation. This 2 disc set has 5 episodes from seasons one and two.) GARBAGE PAIL KIDS: The Movie (YES!) The MAGIC SWORD (Quite possibly the greatest 'B'Movie ever made starring one of the greatest actors to ever live. AWESOME!) CRY-BABY: The Directors Cut (AWESOME!) MOONLIGHTING: Seasons One and Two (ABOUT DAMN TIME!) REMINGTON STEELE: Season One REVELATIONS: The Complete Series (It premiered the same day and at the same time as American Idol... it didn't last long unfortuneatly) TITUS: Seasons One and Two CLEOPATRA 2525: The Complete Series (SWEET!) The FANTASTIC FOUR: The Complete Animated Series (Marvel Action Hour, not the Herbie series, sadly...) EARTH 2: The Complete Series TETSUO: THE IRONMAN (A MUST SEE CLASSIC if there ever was one...) The NANNY: Season One (Honestly, there's actually a market for THIS?) SPENCER FOR HIRE: The Movie Collection (DAMNIT! When's Lazarus Man supposed to come out, it was his best series...) MIKE HAMMER: PRIVATE EYE: The Complete Series 1st & 10: Seasons One and Two (good series from HBO back in the eighties.)

Great news! Matt Groening is running low on Simpsons ideas these days, but the last season of Futurama was healthy as ever. As much as I love the Simpsons, it's run its course and I really wouldn't mind if Futurama would take its place. | J. Kyle

About two years ago, Bruce Campbell did an appearance at USF (The University of South Florida, if you REALLY care to know...) and I went. Someone asked if Brisco County would ever make it to DVD and he said not unless he was able to do commentary on all the episodes. I asked "What about JACK OF ALL TRADES?" and since I was pretty far in the back, he raised his hand up to block out the lights from his eyes so he could see where the voice came from. He asked me to stand so he could see me, so I did. He paused for a few seconds and then said "What are you, a nighttime security guard. NO ONE watched THAT crap." There was a huge laugh from everyone, and then he said "No, it won't be on DVD anytime soon cause no one cared about it when it was on the first time."

Hi5!
At a book signing, the audience was trying to get Bruce to say all his classic lines but he refused. After a woman asked him to say "Gimmie some sugar, baby," he stood up like he was gonna say the line and everybody cheered. Then he shouted, "Who do you people think you are? You can't just order me around like I'm your little monkey!" Everybody got real quiet while he glared at them all and then he said, "I'm SAM RAIMI'S LITTLE MONKEY, DAMMIT!"
We all had a good laugh.

Schumacher...why bother? Ugh. The first Burton one was pretty good but anything from there on out was questionable at best and horrid at worst.
As much as I am a fan and collector of those (even today), that movie sucked. It was a less-imaginitive Muppet Babies with snot.

The full season sets are coming out later this year, so I'll probably skip this one. Even though the new series tanked I'd probably buy that on DVD as well since I missed out on a lot of it. | HairRaiser

I really liked the new one and hope it does get the DVD treatment, as I only was able to see the first season and bits of the second. The original series is one of those things that I remember more fondly than I know it really is, so I'm probably skipping the season sets as well. | Whitebacon
