I couldn't get it to download at the beloved Wrestling Network but I could get it to stream from the website here: http://video.mpegnation.com/a0019040036140...5183156100.html

This is Nick Gulas's son's promotion so I'm stoked because if your dad is the most hated promoter in Tennessee, you BETTER have somebody on the roster who can throw a punch. Luckily, I got a batch of Schlitz laying around the house to ease the pain and break it all up by wandering to the terlit.

WHAT WORKED-

- Every Mexican restaurant in town sponsors this so I'm assuming someone blades before this is over or my Sangre ain't gonna watch.

- They advertise an upcoming houseshow main event of Sycho Sid versus Doug Gilbert and we HAVE GOT TO have a pool to see which reason will cause it not to actually happen. Gilbert gets arrested for stealing cigarrettes. Sid has a softball game. Sid double booked. Doug triple booked. Both go to party at Tommy Rich's house instead. Sid shows up a day late. Doug is double booked but picks this one but shows up that night and it was an afternoon show. The reasons are endless. who's putting up what?

- Kid Kash takes on Chris Micheals and I'm disappointed that Micheals doesn't embrace the inner Shane and go by Shane Micheals. Kid Kash does a nice Zbysko stall for ten minutes and then they go to a commercial and you have to respect that. When they get back Micheals works on the arm a little and Kash cuts him off with a hotshot and then chokes Micheals a bit. Kash does a ten minute chinlock and pulls Micheals hair to cut him off every time Micheals elbows out. The crowd gets behind Micheals as he fights out of a sleeper. Micheals has a big comeback and his punches are OVW fine, but it all feels Christian York versus Ace Darling 1997 with Southern psychology. I dunno somebody needs to nail somebody in the face and get this into the South in year 2005. They bring better punches as they both push the ref out of the way for the double DQ. This works because they didn't do a 2-count sequence and Chris Micheals looks like he could get good soon.

- Mike Woods wrestles Buzz Dupp. BUZZ DUPP!?!?! Ripping off an ECW gimmick that barely made tv is as indie as a Danny Doring $5 polaroid. This is face versus face so somebody BETTER turn evil quick. It's for the fucking Mid-America belt, for crap's sake. LUCKILY, they both turn evil and this gets sorta fun. Backrakes, eye-gouges, Buzz Dupp with the Valentine flop, Mike Woods with the brass knucks. Not actually good, but I dig Dupp. Best match between guys who work at a storage facility ever.

WHAT DIDN'T WORK-

- Shabah Shabahz getting squashed by Lone Star wasn't very good. There was one nice armdrag and a truly hilarious stab at mat wrestling. A match from the South where nobody punches each other what? Not in this neck of the Sacred Soil of Virginia, hoss. Oh wait, the match isn't over. BOY! Some fellas need to work on their punches. Shabaz hits a highlarious dropkick and leans into a Torborg Knee-wrenching Superkick and that's that. Lone Star should hold on to the nice Full Nelson With leg-grapevine and use it as his finisher. And they should work on their punches and kicks.

- Shabah Shabaz turns evil over the commercial and now he's joined the Syndicate Crew. He's more fun beating on folks- as he does a backrake and some of the sloppiest suplexes you will see. His opponent- Chris Thomas- is gonna be sore when he goes to his surveying job in the morning. If Shabaz worked stiffer, his crossfacing chinlock would work. Chris Thomas goes on offense and Shabaz misses a corner charge. And you wish- in your heart- that he didn't. His punches are okay but he fucks up a legsweep. Thomas does ten in the corner and it's perfectly fine. Shabaz loads his glove and that's your finish. I assume after this commercial, Chris Thomas will turn evil and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squash someone who will then turn evil and squash someone after the commercial who then turns evil and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial and squashes someone who turns evil after the commercial.

Sid shows up, thinks he is wrestling Sting for the NWA World Title, realizes he's facing Doug Gilbert, finds out that there is a decimal point in the figure he is supposed to be paid, and leaves for a pick-up softball game in the parking lot.

Doug Gilbert shows up three hours early and drinks a 30 pack of Old Milwakee. In the back discussing the match with Sid, he hurls himself forward to blow oats- crushing Sid's bad leg. Sid goes to the hospital and misses four weeks of softball. Doug Gilbert wrestles Jake the Roberts and is the second drunkest man in the ring.

Its Chris Michaels. He's been around for a long time. Possibly as long as Kid Kash. Tracy Smothers trainee. Back when I was constantly bitching about noone in the indies knowing how to kick their opponent in the gut, Chris Michaels was the guy I would point to as having a good kick to the gut.

I am hoping one of these shows has him vs. the Nick Patrik nephew with the beard who does heel commentary.

The other thing that seems odd about this fed is I'm not sure if its actually Gulas booked or if Gulas is just the on screen figure head. Who would drag in George Gulas as your on screen figure head? Its Mike Porter's fed, at one point I think it was booked by Chris Champion but I think Porter took over the booking, at least pretty sure that it was Porter who booked the New Jack vs. Gypsy Joe feud.

Is that Jeff Daniels guy any good? And if Micheals is trained by Smothers, he should punch better.

Bobby Eaton on the midnight Express message board...

"for george gulas, he was a great guy. i never had any problems with him at all. george was in charge of the merchandise for mid america and i think it was before its time.

i never had heat with george because he always was nice to me. when i turned heel i was happy because i prefer working heel. others had heat with george because he was the bosses son

A funny story about george, we were in the ring once and i was about to suplex him and im counting down "1, 2, 3". the ref later on inthe back asked me what the hell was the count for? the count was for george to sell the d**n suplex.

bobby"

" you know seeing some of the people working today, looking back at Gulas, he wasnt that bad. ive seen much worse.

but it was fun and i had a good time. the gulas family always have treated me well.

Bobby "
