I agree with everythign else you posted but I disagree on this. Johnny Nitro is actually one of the final TE winners and I'd say his tag team work is making a pretty big impact.

[Honest confusion] Johnny Nitro won a TE contest?

[Looks on TVtome.com for winners list, finds "John Hennigan - Won Season 3. He is currently training in OVW. Wrestled and assisted the general manager of WWE Raw. He is now wrestling as Johnny Nitro on Smackdown, along side Joey Mercury (A.K.A. Joey Matthews) and both are being managed by Melina and the all three for MNM. Currently one half of WWE Tag Team Champions."] How 'bout that. I was super-wrong.

Wasn't Joey Matthews a finalist in one of the seasons also? Making MNM kind of a TE tagteam?

I honestly had forgotten about Hennigan...

I'm sure it's an honest mistake, since he went from the name John Hennigan to Johnny Blaze to Johnny Trout to Johnny Trout In A White Wine Sauce before they finally settled on the name Johnny Nitro and they've just really only used the Nitro part since he's been teamed with Mat...I mean Mercury.

So he wasn't the Johnny Nitro who worked for Bischoff on RAW?

Yes, he is the Johnny Nitro who worked for Bischoff. Infact, i thought the story of his name being changed was to suck up to Bischoff, hence "Nitro". It just happens to fit the name scheme of Joey Mercury.

No, Matthews was on the indy scene before signing w/ the WWE.

Actually John Hennigan took the name Johnny Nitro before Joey Matthews took the name Joey Mercury. And I believe, but I'm not sure, that Nitro took that last name in OVW before being called up to be Bischoff's apprentice. I could be wrong there, though.

On an edition of RAW, he introduced himself as "Johnny Blaze" to Bischoff, then the very next week, he changed it to "Johnny Nitro" ... I think it may have had something to do with the Ghost Rider comic.

And this also led to a great deal of speculation and jokes that Matt Capotelli would be debuting on Thursday nights as Matt Thunder...

I can't wait to hear more crazy whiney Edge promos if his "title" shot gets drafted over to SD.

I'm assuming he can't use it against Cena even though the belt is Raw property right now.

Man, that business with the title belts belonging to their holders rather than the respective brands is just stupid. I mean STUPID. It doesn't even make any sense. It's like if a champ left the company entirely, he would still be the champ for some reason. And don't even get me started on what that rule means regarding the tag champs. I know they'd never move one half of the tag champs without the other half, but it's supposed to be possible. Would they each defend half a championship, or what?

Wasn't that Ric Flair's entire gimmick in his WWF run circa 1991 or so? He was the "Real world's champion", and he had the belt to prove it. It's not as if this doesn't have precedent.

That being said, I am glad beyond words that Cena is on Raw now, and it would be a crying shame to ship him back off to Smackdown. This guy is the future of the company, and is going to be one of the big ones unless creative seriously drops the ball (see: Orton, Randy) or he does something retard stupid himself (see: Lesnar, Brock). I have pretty much quit watching Smackdown because they don't seem to be able to do anything to amuse me (for instance, I tune in last week to see that the feature of the show is Kurt angle wrestling... booker T's wife? uh, what? OK, tivo delete that for me please), but I have kinda missed Cena. Plus, as has been said dozens of times before, later-night cable TV is by far a better place for Cena's character. Like him or not, he DOES have crowd control charisma that nobody else currently working in the company can match except perhaps Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero, and that's when they're at their best.

I would also like nothing better than for Hunter (or Hunter AND Batista) to go to Smackdown. They teased it last year, and it seemed like a good decision then, and it's still a good decision now. Who is he going to bury there? Taker? Naw not a chance. Taker may be the only guy in the company (not named McMahon) with the sway that Trips has. Angle? Again, not a chance. Angle's legacy is solidified no matter what he does now. Big show? I would be kinda surprised to see them paired up really. And... um... who else is on Smackdown anyway? Nobody else that we really should be worried about Trips eating the momentum of.

My guess is that Hunter will be drafted to Smackdown before vengeance, thus putting extra weight on the HiaC match. If Hunter IS drafted, then it's damn near a guarantee that he'll be going over Batista at vengeance... and about time I say. I am no fan of hunters, but Batista STILL feels like a feel-good, place-holding, one-timer of a champion. Maybe I'm the only one, but I always thought Randy had twice the charisma and ring savvy that Dave has.

Oh, and Shelton is still the man, even if creative is ignoring him. So sad, hopefully they'll realize their error soon. I'm telling you, 5-10 years from now, Orton, Shelton, and Cena are going to be the new Austin, Michaels, and Rock. It isn't even that hard to see that each of them are somewhat patterning themselves after one of the other three. Christian MIGHT be the new HHH (although infinitely more likable), I guess we'll see.

Some people confuse "They want Cena to be the Rock" with "Cena is the next Rock."

Cena is the subject of the most blatant silver spoon stuck in mouth that isn't BROCK.

He was fed Jericho, protected against everyone else, fed Show, and then given the oh so intimidating APA to triumph over for the title.

Meanwhile he's given the rap gimmick to run with while hip hop's poularity was still strong, if waning.

His rap gimmick turned goofy as soon as he turns face.

The crowd was DEAD at WM. They didn't even make enough noise to keep me awake the first two times I tried to watch it.

Stone Cold level heat? Is that supposed to be a joke? Aside from last Raw I haven't even seen Cena get RVD-at-the-start-of-InVasion heat. I'd count on the Raw audience to stop going nuts as soon as he gets to stale with them too.

Christian SERVED him at the Rumble, has been calling him out for weeks but is ignored b/c Cena has more important threats like the marks believing Michael Cole is a heterosexual.

So what's the payoff? He actually cuts a damn funny promo but Christian doesn't retaliate vocally... and he should've seeing as how anyone wearing neon green bike shorts in their debut doesn't have a lot of room to talk when it comes to fashion.

So Christian gets his heat back physically right? A beatdown would be ridiculous, but we at least get a pull apart brawl right?

WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.

He bests Christian AND Tomko without breaking a sweat while throwing punches that make you miss Nathan Jones.

So we relearn through Christian what we learned through Jericho. You're simply not allowed to get yourself over in tHHHis era.

Is John Cena over? Oh yes. Very over.

But it's all hype.

"[Nitro] just happens to fit the name scheme of Joey Mercury."

Actually it's the other way around. Joey Matthews became Joey Mercury because they didn't want people to think he was related to Josh, funnily enough. (Related note: isn't it funny that William Regal has outlived all the Steves on the WWF roster who cost him his name 'cept one.)

I wouldn't feel so compelled to respond to the very Angry Johnny if this didn't come so far out of left field.

"Cena is the subject of the most blatant silver spoon stuck in mouth that isn't BROCK."

Yes, getting over = being handed everything. (And Brock was great too in his own ways. I'm sorry the company hasn't been built around Christian and Molly Holly feuding for the world title.)

"He was fed Jericho,"

Yeah so? And then he did nothing for the rest of the calendar year, despite this apparently neverending push he's been on since he showed up.

"protected against everyone else,"

Yes, like Undertaker.

"fed Show,"

So?

"and then given the oh so intimidating APA to triumph over for the title."

...

"Meanwhile he's given the rap gimmick to run with while hip hop's poularity was still strong, if waning."

Good gracious. Yes, he was 'given' it by virtue of dressing up as Vanilla Ice for the Halloween Party Smackdown, doing a rap as a joke, and the schtick unexpectedly catching it on huge.

"The crowd was DEAD at WM."

And crowd response to a single match means everything forever! Did you watch Judgment Day?

"Aside from last Raw I haven't even seen Cena get RVD-at-the-start-of-InVasion heat."

Do you watch Smackdown?

"Christian SERVED him at the Rumble, has been calling him out for weeks but is ignored b/c Cena has more important threats"

Psst it's a work.

"Some people confuse "They want Cena to be the Rock" with "Cena is the next Rock.""

While he's far from the Rock, it's really important to remember there was an astronomical difference in the Rock from 1999 who was still learning and improving in all facets, and the all-time great all-around performer that he developed into the subsequent two years.

"Is John Cena over? Oh yes. Very over. But it's all hype."

'Some' people apparently confuse "John Cena isn't really over" with "John Cena is really over." I mean garsh, him not being your cup of tea is one thing, because he's definitely got his weaknesses. But if you refuse to see the change in he and can't acknowledge or discern any positives in what Cena has done, especially in 2005, you're not very fair/accurate at 'analyzing' pro wrestling, sorry.

What impressed me most about last night's RAW was perhaps the politest heel turn in history by William Regal. I believe he said, "That's a bloody shame." No sucker-punching Tajiri or insulting the fans. Pure Regal.

Then again, I don't believe I saw him with the rest of Bischoff's "Crusaders" at the end of the show, so I wonder if it's really a heel turn at all.

Look carefully. Here's there. It was (if memory serves me) Maven, La Resistance, William Regal, Snitsky, Edge, Christian & Tomko.

Yeah, I think that was Regal.

Tommy Dreamer leading the troops to the strains of "This Is Extreme". Not quite the shocking moment that began the "Invasion" storyline of 2001, but I had myself a world class mark-out moment. Hell, I was cryin' tears of joy at the sight of Rhyno (who will, hopefully, be given a second chance after "One Night Stand").

Edge and Lita. When it comes to this fiasco? My giveas**tter broke a LONG damn time ago.
