I felt this epsiode was a mixed bag and I ended up disappointed.

It was great to see the band back together so to speak with the Strike Team back on the prowl. Shane was a real cut up this week. Their running down the cop killers in short order was a show of how effective the unit can be.

On the other hand, there were 2 instances where I had a distinct feeling of being let down by the stories.

One was the the Dutch/Corrine/Vic deal. It just...fizzled. Granted, there are still 2 shows left where something can happen but I was hoping for real fireworks and instead it was flat. I did appreciate seeing Dutch's smugness about thinking he could handle the sitiation backfire on him. He was helpless trying to talk things out with Corrine at the end.

The other case was the lie detector. They pushed it in the preview after last week's show and at the beginnig of this show. However, we don't get to see any of Shane's questioning and Armie doesn't even take the damn test! I thought that was flat out weak because I know they could have done a great job with the scenes of those guys hooked up to the polygraph. If they needed a way to split up Armie & Shane to go their own ways, that's fine. I just wish it hadn't been done at the expense of that part of the story.

Those 2 things dragged the show down for me, which is really rare for The Shield.

Boy, I know what you mean, Mr. Orange. I can't believe that they would just let the most interesting storyline for me, The Dutch-Vic-Corrine angle, just sort of sputter to a quick death like that. There were so many ways they could have gone with this (how would Dutch react to Vic's kids, would Corrine get feelings back for Vic), and for whatever reason the writers seemingly decided that it wasn't worth their time.

Then you have the overarching storyline about the two cops that were killed, and THAT was the way they finished it? What a copout, so to speak.

I do like the Seizure storyline, and I like that the Mitchell storyline will continue to play out, but I just hope that next week features better storyline payoffs.

It's still the best show on TV right now though, don't get it twisted.
