All three consoles have been unveiled. And it seems that every system has its own unique perks. To line them up:

Microsoft Xbox 360: Sleek vertical design, able to upload digital photos, capable of sending video and text messages, able to connect wirelessly to PC, wireless controllers, backwards compatibility with Xbox titles, Xbox Live is still the standard, new deal with Square Enix means Final Fantasy series now comes to Microsoft.

Sony Playstation 3: Wireless controller (as mentioned many times) looks like a Bat-a-rang, backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 titles, game library is still second to none with Metal Gear Solid 4, GTA, and Final Fantasy VII among the launch titles announced.

Nintendo Revolution: Nintendo goes online for FREE, first-party titles, backwards compatible with Gamecube, wireless controller (although design is still a question mark), ability to download classic games, revolutionary gameplay promised but still not specified.

This is scratching the surface, but each company can call E3 a victory. Xbox 360's already got a huge hype machine, but all of those features will likely mean a high price tag. PS3's gonna be the one to beat, but I'm going to choose the Nintendo based on FREE online service and the ability to download your favorite past games. This has so much potential that many probably don't even realize.

Having seen what you've seen, what console would you choose?

Not until reading your post did I know that Sony's controllers were gonna be wireless...

I was thinking about getting the next XBox until early this week when I saw the new style for the PS3...and it looks so bad ass.

Gonna stick with Sony. The Controller won't be that different, and maybe will be easier to navigate between the d-pad and the analog sticks.

But until prices are released, I'm still withholding judgement, I'll probably go with the cheapest system out of the Xbox 360 or PS3.

I'm most impressed with 360, but that's to be expected, considering they're launching first. Some of the things they have planned for XBox are pretty intriguing, none more so than this "Marketplace" they keep hyping. Unfortunately, the BC they're talking about is backwards compatibility with the "top selling XBox titles". Whatever that means-they're not talking.

The PS3 certainly won the hype war (and Killzone looks AMAZING), but until I see actual game footage, I'm a bit skeptical. But if they can hit that Killzone visual target at launch, it's going to sell a LOT of systems. But that sucker is going to be pricey. And hopefully, they'll get rid of the boomerang controller.

Nintendo-eh. The implementation of this download service is the key for me. If it's an iTunes Music Store-type set up, with limited-DRM, and the entire NES/SNES/N64 back library, then I'm sold. If it's (and this is what I'm expecting), a subscription service with access to only first-party titles, then I'm gonna pass. Although Miyamoto mentioned a new Kid Icarus possibly coming for the Revolution, which would make me happy.

The PS3 looks amazing, but if it's $500 like is rumored no way I'm picking it up until the price drops a couple hundred.

360 looks good to me, though not quite on the ps3 level. However I heard two things. First that wireless Internet is not built in, it's an adapter you must purchase seperatly. Second that the stuff we're seeing now is running about 1/4 of the systems true power so it may come close to what ps3 looks like in the end. Also the online play will come in two versions. The basic one is FREE! and you can pay to get more options. Now THAT is great news.

Nintendo has me really thinking hard. They have also said it will not be near as powerful as the other two, but whatever they have up their sleeve will hopefully make up the difference in games. And it'll likely be the cheapest.

If I had to say right now, I'm getting a 360 and the Revolution.

Looking at the offerings from the Big Three, I'm quite stuck on what I want to pick up.

I like the PS3, but I don't like the controller. If there's a dualshock convertor available, so that I can use my old PS2 controllers, I'd be very interested. Also, I normally wait until the previous system is officially DEAD before picking up a next-gen system.

Nintendo's Revolution sounds...different. I like the idea of downloading games, but I'm wondering just HOW many games. I'm getting the feeling it'll all be first party material, because a lot of older games would probably be overlooked...like a guilty pleasure of mine. (The original Power Rangers game for the SNES) I admit, I can't really say much about this system, since there hasn't been a lot said about it.

Nintendo's Game Boy Micro is a definate must-buy for me. It'll be a good compliment to my beloved PSP.

Microsoft's X-Box 360 sounds good, but I never did like the original X-Box very much. I may look into it when a Final Fantasy game that isn't FFXI is released onto it.

For now, I'm very happy with my PS2, my PSP, and my PC...but I am getting excited about the new wave of systems. Huzzah to the future!

Revolution: Old = profit. Not much needs to be said here, except that the downloadable games (most likely 1st-party only) had better be $5 at the high end, otherwise my emulator is going to be just fine. Very quiet E3, but this was Zelda's show for Nintendo anyway.

PS3: Looks good for (and correct me if I'm wrong) a system with 0 playables at the show. The Blu-Ray stuff is nice, but I'm skeptical about Blu-Ray games coming out at the same price point as regular DVD ones. It looks like Sony's banking on losing their appeal with Immersion for the DualShock and need that new abomination of a controller. I'll go out on a limb and say TGS will be the first chance to actually play a PS3. It seemed like a smokescreen to draw attention away from...

360: If it's backwards compatible, it's the winner, no question. It certainly could look a lot better, but even running off the alpha builds the games looked better than most anything on the current systems (and if the news is true, the alpha kits are only running at 20% of full 360 capacity) so they have nowhere to go but up.

To me, 360 wins almost by default, since it was the only playable next-gen console at the show. By the time we get Revolution or PS3, 360 will be out for 9 months to a year. The question, of course, is does this make the 360 the Dreamcast, or the PS2? I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the latter, but PS3 is going to be an 800 pound gorilla no matter what.

Two things:

1. Nintendo is working on securing third party games for the downloadable content. That comes directly from Nintendo, and is awesome news.

2. The news is looking more and more like those PS3 demos of Killzone were not in fact actual gameplay. Bastards.

I liked the old Goonies game.

If the prices are reasonable, I'd certainly consider the Revolution...but I'm not sure about the new futuristic controller that's been touted. I'd like a throwback to the old SNES controller, which, outside of the Dualshock, is the best controller ever.

(IMHO, of course)

Im gonna wait until all systems come out with games before I compare and make my choice.

I feel kind of bad though, cause If everyone was like that video gaming would never work

Im thinking PS3, but they better cut out that controller- I want a controller thats comfortable to handle in video gaming, not one thats good for frisbeeing at a kangaroo...and then it comes back.. ahem, you know what i mean.

I've been firmly in the XBox corner for the current round, but for the upcoming stuff I've still yet to see something that completely floors me (some of the PS3 stuff looks nice, but that doesn't mean much to me - plus it may not be representative of the actual game itself). I've also yet to see enough info on any of the three to make a choice.

At first I figured I would go with the 360, but I've been pretty underwhelmed so far. The PS3 has already turned me off with their controller and likely high price tag due to using the Blu-Ray disc format.

As much as I think Nintendo is overmatched trying to go against Sony and MS (and I hope I'm wrong), the prospect of their new system being essentially backwards compatible with almost EVERYTHING Nintendo has released - not to mention the likely cheaper price - has me very interested. However, Nintendo is worrying me with not showing their controller yet and giving all these weird clues about it. I'm not a fan of innovation just for the sake of innovation, I want it to make sense. All this talk about "feeling" games and these hints of a "revolutionary" controller don't fill me with a lot of confidence.

PS3 and Revolution for me. I'm like the rest of you guys-- if they manage to get all the NES, SNES and N64 titles available for download on Revolution's online service, hell yeah, mothafucka. You know I'm getting all the Marios, all the Zeldas and Metroids... but having never actually owned an NES (and only recently having acquired an SNES), I'm at a little bit of a loss as to what to download beyond that. But I'm sure the Revolution's online service will cause a torrent of classic game reviews to be published, so I'll probably read through those, and solicit plenty of advice from friends, customers and Ws.

PS3, boo-yeah. Allegedly it's supposed to be backward-compatible, though I'll be interested to see how they swing that, because at this time Blu-Ray isn't compatible with DVD. Or CDs, for that matter, I don't think. I don't want to have to replace my PS2 system in a couple of years when it breaks down like the rest of them-- I'd feel far more secure knowing I can simply put it in a box because my PS3 will play all its games.
