I thought Lita's turn was fun, especially knowing everything else that's going on. A little uncomfortable? Sure, but fun as well.

Oh, and I still can't believe Vince can strut around like that after tearing BOTH quads. The man is my hero.

No real surprise in the main event ... we all kinda saw it coming, I suppose. I just thought she should have sold it better during the match by "rooting" for Kane.

I noticed Orton looked smaller & and I know he hasn't been able to train, but was his suit maybe two sizes too big?

The draft sounds promising, this according to the rules posted at WWE.com.

Not so sure where they're going with Jericho's character. I hope a heel run isn't in the cards for him.

Seriously...a MONTH of drafting? Do they really need to prolong this for the span of a month? And how chaotic will that make the upcoming PPV's? That's the real story coming out of tonight's Raw. And why would they tease GM's, champions, announcers, and divas getting drafted? It's not interesting and no one wants to see it.

Sigh....it just looks like such a bad idea.

I'm not sure what "it" is, but I hope it's not "That bit with Viscera macking on the pillowfight girls and Lilian just seemed to go on forever and get more painful every second" -- because I think that really needs saying.

And I like the idea of drawing out the draft over a month if it avoids having to spend an entire Raw on drafting with a few meaningless matches thrown in, the way it's been the last couple times.

Energetic enough opening tag match....I bet Triple H will have something to say about Dave and Ric buddying up to each other....Flair/Christian was your standard Flair match these days. Christian's outfit was---well---wow....Hey, Stevie! I thought he'd get SOME reaction, but I didn't hear much....Couple interesting Bischoff soundbites about the ECW PPV. I didn't think Benoit was actually going to try that move off the ladder....

Interesting strategy, with Candice tipping over the bed, and Christy taking a nice bump to the floor. Wow, talk about overanalyzing a pillow fight....As embarrassing as that Viscera segment may have been to some, I thought it was hilarious, and it's the most people have EVER cared about Viscera....Who does Vis think he is with food+sex, George Costanza? It didn't work for him, either....I see some real life is trickling into the Jericho angle....

Man, even Stacy couldn't make the crowd care about the superheroes....I thought when Vince was making fun of Randy's looks after injury, he was surely going to mention how he had two leg injuries and looks better than ever....Not a great ME, but it was just a backdrop for the angle I guess.

This was one of the best RAW's in a long time. No signs of HHH might have SOMETHING to do with it. Here is what I loved:

BIG VIS! (Who knew he could sing?)
Heroine Stacey (although she is no Mighty Molly)
Lita whoring herself to both Kane and Edge in the same night
ECW hype
Vince making fun of Orton

The only thing that sucked was Coach and Eric's cockblock of ECW table spot. And doing the draft over 3 weeks blows. 1 pick a week for 2 weeks then 2 picks on the last week? If they are gonna make it a month long draft, why not draft EVERYONE and not just 5 people per show?

BTW, here is why RAW ruled:

All this Lita/Edge bullshit was almost made worth it by hearing an outraged Ross call Lita a "damned harlot." Almost.

So now, much like with Evil McMahon, the WWE has turned their biggest source of negative legit heat and turned it into part of their storyline. Main-eventing RAW with it, at that. Except this is even pettier and more stupid than the Hart/McMahon scandal, since at least that was wrestling-related. This is just dragging on-camera shit that's in their personal lives. But then, I guess they had to do SOMETHING about the massive heel heat Lita was generating. Maybe they're trying to change "You screwed Matt" into "You screwed Kane?"

I'm fairly enthused about this one-night-only ECW PPV, especially if Heyman's allowed to go all-out with it, with cursing, blood, mind-blowing spots and general chaos for all. I wanna see Tajiri and Benoit do what they did in about 30 seconds and stretch it out for 10-12 minutes, hardcore style. I wanna see Three Way Dances, none of this pussy first-man-to-pin BS. I wanna see barbed wire and flaming tables and the Acid Drop. I also want Joey Styles on commentary, because it just ain't ECW without the Voice of ECW.

Damn, Orton looks like shit. He does look like he's had some kind of wasting disease. Maybe he had cancer and nobody told us? It'd explain why all his hair's gone.

Flair's an interesting character. He's about the most solid tweener I've seen in awhile. He's obviously heelish and he hangs with HHH, but everybody loves him anyway.

Wonder what role Stevie's gonna play in the ECW match. For that matter, anybody think it's possible Tazz might jump in? I know he can't wrestle much, but he could hit someone with a lead pipe or something.

Did the show go into a one hour freefall between the moment Masters appeared on the TV and Vince appeared on TV?
Is this the first time in the last 5 years where Stevie Richards actually has a coherent feud?
This is either the beginning of the final Flair face run, or Flair luring Batista into a trap that leaves him for dead. Decent match between Flair and Christian that leaves open the possibility of stretching it out.
Disappointed slightly by Tajiri vs. Benoit. They could have gone out and demonstrated that ECW wasn't just 'garbage wrestling', but a place where very good matches would occur duing a time period where very good matches were few and far between.
Nice to see Jericho gladly accepts his JTTS role.
Very easy for Orton to avoid the draft. He already knows how to go A.W.O.L.
Tony Schiavone of the Russo era was needed at the end of RAW: It's a shoot. No, it's a work. No, it's a worked shoot. Perhaps it's a shoot worked. The Lita/Edge angle just demonstrates yet again why WCW is where the Big Boys play. And, Lita still can't act.

Kick-ass Raw, in my opinion. The show over the last few months has recaptured some of what it had going for it during the late 90's. I've started caring about it again.

Stevie is back, and he got some offense.

They're doing a good job building the ECW PPV to those who aren't familiar with the product (no matter what the end result will be). I wonder how many people pumping thier fists and chanting "ECW" had even seen a show.

Viscera is awesome. And, no, I'm not a WWE plant on this board. Its a fun character. It works for some reason. If the wrestling thing doesn't work for Vis, I think he would have a bright future in importing/exporting at Vandalay Industries.

And the ending had me smiling. Kane interferes in Edge's first shot, Matt in the second.

It's gonna be 1 pick per show, per week, for the first 3 weeks and then 2 picks per show on the final week. So you'll have an extra week to hate it.

I only hope that they do something with the guy. He's a hell of a talent, but hasn't done ANYTHING in WWE outside of the RTC. I'm actually suprised he's lasted so long without being cut.

I, too, think the month-long draft is a let-down. So instead of a tremendous RAW where ten guys get drafted, we can look forward to four regular RAWs where two guys get drafted? I guess their logic is that it'll get four RAWs with a 4.2 instead of one RAW with a 4.2, but I guarantee that won't happen.

"Seriously...a MONTH of drafting? Do they really need to prolong this for the span of a month?"

Yo, I like it better that way. July-August 2002 was much more exciting TV than the one night last April.

"And how chaotic will that make the upcoming PPV's?"

For who, people who predict the matches for upcoming PPVs? Because, I mean, they still know what their PPV matches are going to be and who will be in them.

"And why would they tease GM's, champions, announcers, and divas getting drafted?"

I dunno, why ... not.

"The only thing that sucked was Coach and Eric's cockblock of ECW table spot."

a) Do you want Benoit to die, and b) did you miss that the point was 'ONLY BY BUYING THE ECW PPV CAN ONE SEE SUCH CARNAGE'?

"If they are gonna make it a month long draft, why not draft EVERYONE and not just 5 people per show?"

Because they only want to switch 10 guys and not completely realign the two sides.

"So instead of a tremendous RAW where ten guys get drafted, we can look forward to four regular RAWs where two guys get drafted?"

1 guy gets drafted each episode. Smackdown will draft people on Smackdown.

There's a really good direction the Jericho subplot could go: He regains his passion thanks to Shelton reminding him why he wants, first and foremost, to stand tall as a wrestler. I hope to see that and watch a revitalized Jericho. Most important, he'd drop the dumbass dancing rope-legdrop.

Big Vis stole the damn show. BIG VIS.

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker and I weren't listening to Vince and Randy because we were busy arguing which of them had the ugliest ears. Her: Vince is a Ferengi. Me: Then Orton is a Vulcan.

Finally, Batista exercises in the ring on a RAW. Unfortunately, it was after a too-brief Flair match with Christian. Maybe the reason Christian can't make any headway is because he has no standout offense. He sells well, and he can make a match end in an entertaining fashion, but when he takes over, he's utterly bland unless he's posing.

All I'll say about the main event is that this can only distract Edge from capturing the title, and that lack of foresight fits his character's status as a guy who can't quite make that final step to be champ.

This is off-topic, as I'll write my thoughts on Raw when I feel more coherent. Has anyone else noticed that when Forrest from Ultimate Fighter shaved his head, he looked EXACTLY like Kane?
