Grabbed this from another board, who in turn got it from PWI.com:

    American Dragon Bryan Danielson is gone from Ring of Honor, as he is taking time off to evaluate his career options and may end up leaving professional wrestling. Danielson, a superb in-ring performer, is said to have become increasingly frustrated with the business and is going to travel in Europe for the summer. It's possible he may end up working some shows from Brian Dixon's All Star Wrestling, which runs small shows in the UK, but beyond that he has no real intentions of working. By all accounts, he's burned out on the business right now as he hasn't worked for New Japan for some time, there isn't any real WWE interest and you can only get so far working independent dates, even as high profile a performer as he is on that level.

    Ring of Honor covered for Danielson's departure in their storylines with an announcement that he was upset he didn't win the ROH championship this past weekend in Illinois. The ROH announcement noted that Danielson may be leaving the business, which is true, but beyond that it was simply a storyline to address his abrupt departure. If he decides to come back in any form down the line, obviously the company would be ecstatic to have him.

Personally, I really don't follow ROH other than checking out reports posted on message boards, but he's (by all accounts) a fantastic worker. I'm sure some other people here would be able to talk about him more in depth than I, but it'd be a shame if he walks away without ever getting a shot at the big time.

Am I mistaken, or did he nearly break his neck on a NITRO a few years back? That's sticking in my head for some reason. If it IS him, then I can see why he would want to get out, he is a bit undersized and its not like crusers will ever get any respoect in the WWE.

Wasn't American Dragon working as Blitzkrieg in WCW? If so, I think he also had a scary neck injury.

I think you are thinking about the time Christoper Daniels and Michael Modest got a match on Nitro and Daniels blew a moonsault landing on his neck.

As far as Danielson quitting wrestling I doubt it will last long if it is anything more then him taking a trip to Europe (which he has done in the past).

Blitzkrieg was a different guy, who ironically left the wrestling business himself about five years ago. I think I read he got into the computer business or something.

Blitzkrieg sold the Blitzkrieg gimmick to Jack Evans earlier this year. He left the business due to nerve damage in his arm.


It seems the only one of the new generation gaijin at the Inoki Dojo who is happy with NJ is Rocky Romero (AKA Black Tiger IV).

Danielson is one of the best workers I've ever seen live. In case you've never had the pleasure, he hits me as a quicker Dean Malenko.

He'll be an indie legend, I don't know how he fares in Japan. The sad fact is, he has an atrocious look (pale, ugly, tends to wrestle in white trunks) and no charisma.

I'd hate to see him go too. By all accounts his recent series with Homicide is off the chain.

Well, his look has undergone a drastic change lately, as evidenced in this picture. Unfortunately, the new look led fans to chant "Homeless Dragon" and "American Hobo" at him.

At least I got to see him do a 40-revolution airplane spin before he retired.
