What did people think? I was thoroughly entertained, thanks to the B-story of the elves and...of course...the return of the Chicken Suited Man!!! Complete with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 ending.

Best show since its return. We finally saw the return of Quagmire and the gang (and Chicken Suit Man!).

So, is Mort part of their group now? Not that I'm complaining. I agree, much better than last week's episode. Peter telling Bonnie she's been pregnant for six years was great. I knew he'd say something when she made her return. I loved Tom Tucker's quote: "He was attacked by a wild dog he THOUGHT he saw."

As an aside, I thought this week's American Dad was its strongest outing as well.

It just seems a little strange to me seeing Mort sitting with the guys at the Clam. Might take a little getting used to.

Two home runs tonight, easily.

It was so great seeing Judd Hirsch playing himself just to say what, two words?

The return of the Chicken Man was great, if only a little too drawn out. We also got the return of the Vaudeville guys.

I think it was oddly brilliant that Peter went out & got a seeing-eye dog rather than going to Brian for help.

Thumbs up for Gary, the no-trash cougar and the Star Wars ending (though my PVR cut it in half). See, they're being good corporate citizens.

I've done a complete 180 on American Dad. I love the show. But some of the dialogue is just *sick.* We lose Stephen Root this episode, but get Patrick Stewart. Nice. It's an excellent touch that American Dad tries as hard as it can to distinguish itself from Famiy Guy and avoid flashbacks, unless completely necessary.

Thumbs up for the raccoon and Toshi (breakout star of the show).

EDIT: How could I forget the best of American Dad...Bill Pullman & Bill Paxton: it's funny because it's true.

Raining on the parade...This was the worst episode of the season for me. I didn't really laugh at all during the first two segments. I did enjoy the nods to past seasons, but the Chicken Fight went WAY too long.

After the disappointment, I couldn't even watch American Dad. After hearing the new love for the show though, I'll have to watch it again.

The Chicken Man fight was too long for my tastes, but the God bits (especially "Jesus Christ!" "What?" "Get the Escalade!") had me laughing. I wish the episode focused more on trying to reform Quagmire than Peter going blind. It wasn't the funniest episode I've seen this season, but I'll take it.

American Dad was the funnier show last night. As long as Roger and Steve keep getting into trouble together, I'll keep watching. Roger gets me laughing out loud with just about every line, from his Squiggy "Hello!" to his reactions to his date. Definitely the best episode of the season.

I didn't go out of my way to watch "American Dad" last night due to its re-airing on Cartoon Network on Thursday and the fact that I don't find the show all that funny. Although on "Family Guy" the highlight for me was Peter's laughing after R2 started rocking back and forth towards the end of the episode. That seriously almost had me in tears, and I couldn't even begin to tell you why. So take that for what you will.

Family Guy had funny moments (the bits with God & Jesus), but the Chicken Fight went on WAAAAYYYY too long and was way too destructive. I liked the use of internal continuity with dealing with Quagmire's problem. The "A" plot of Peter going blind didn't feel as compelling as some plots of yesteryear. In fact, parts of it felt forced.

American Dad was...ugh. Some funny bits and a nice bit of backstory finally given to us, but the entire friggin' thing turned sour as soon as they hit the cosmic reset button.

The bit with the chicken (who seemed to act more like a chicken than a man in a chicken suit, so was it even the same...I'm overthinking now) was great, except it might confuse people who haven't been watching the first seasons...if indeed there ARE any people watching now who weren't watching it before.

I really think a great and obvious joke was missed, though, when they didn't have a bit at the end of the episode with an insurance man telling Horace that acts of God weren't covered under his policy.

The original fight (from "DaBoom", I think) was with a giant chicken, but was also a flashback triggered by an encounter with a guy in a chicken suit.

And yes, my wife was greatly confused by last night's fight, as she's never seen the one with the original gag. (Nor had she seen Joe's wife before.) But at least it led her to want to watch a marathon of the original run.

I marked out hardcore for the end, but Spaced did the "Star Wars ending" (well, technically Empire Strike BAck)WAY better.

The chicken fight is supposed to be absurdly long. That was just utter brilliance.

The best part of the chicken fight? It was the fact that it went SO absurdly long and once it was finally over, Peter just continued his conversation without missing a beat whatsoever, as if it never happened. THAT'S genius!

And make no mistake about it, American Dad is hitting it's stride. Steve and Roger's chemistry is only surpassed by Stewie and Brian.
