There's news afoot that his extramarital activities may have had something to do with his voluntary retirement.
As a longtime Royal fan, they need to do something differently. Baird has done a good job of acquiring talent for nothing (Leo Nunez, Justin Huber, Andy Sisco), but they seem intent on bringing guys up that aren't ready yet. Calling up Burgos from AA; Nunez has about three games above A ball and he's up. Ruben Gotay last year and he still looks overmatched at times. Then they give Calvin Pickering all of 31 at-bats before bringing back Ken Harvey and his hacktastic hitting approach. It is so damn frustrating being a fan of this team. Beside Zack Greinke, I don't see a ton to like about the future either. Can someone lift my spirits about this? Maybe Scott Christ and his damn high-flying Orioles? I doubt it. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
