I guess this means that the winner of the tourney will face him on RAW (probably in 3 weeks) and lose to Batista. So, naturally, I'm looking for Benoit to take the tourney. Promote this thread! | | Freeway

Remember, though...LAST YEAR's Bad Blood was headlined by a HBK/HHH Hell In A Cell...but that wasn't for the World Title. | GimmickMan

I would be interested in seeing if maybe Angle comes over to RAW and somehow picks up the title and fueds with HBK over the title. That would be good. | Ticamo

| #4 Posted on 9.5.05 1638.05 Reposted on: 9.5.12 1638.39 | I would ordinarily be bothered by this... being what? The third PPV featuring HHH VS Batista, but I'm thinking that we're about due for an epic rivalry in the WWE again. Sure, it features HHH (again), but you have to give the guy respect. Did I just say that? When he's running on all cylinders, the guy can make you take interest.
I'm fine with this announcement, as long as they keep the Title on Batista and HHH continues to make him look like a formidable Champ. If they continue to show Batista getting the better of HHH and be viewed a an awesome Champ, it'll mean that much more the next time they put the belt on Benoit, who I'd love to see go back to his silent heel gimmick and have a feud with someone other than Jericho and HHH for the millionth time.

One fans could watch over and over again, the one that'd be the jewel on any Batista DVD heh. HHH vs Batista in a Hell in a Cell has the possibility of being this match, but it does leave this tournament kinda hanging. It leaves a couple options to get this end.
1) Bischoff reports Benoit is too concussed/injured to compete any further in the tournament, HHH is put in his place and wins the tournament. Stipulation is made.
2) Bischoff reports Benoit is too concussed/injured to compete any further in the tournament, Kane receives a bye, HHH somehow screws Batista out of the title against whomever and Batista asks for redemption in the Cell.
3) Benoit competes in the tournament, loses in the finals to Edge, HHH screws Batista out of the title and Batista asks for redemption in the Cell. | Mr Heel II

Especially after how medicore their last 2 PPV matches were. The feud has lost all its steam and is pretty much dead IMHO. Its time to move on, but its HHH's show, so its not gonna happen. | CTX

Maybe.
...Or the winner of the tournament gets their title match on Raw to "compete" with the Smackdown PPV, with Batista winning and going on to defend the belt in the Cell.
There's almost 8 weeks until Vengeance and I really don't see the winner of the tournament being built up for 6 weeks just for a single-brand PPV, and I definitely don't see Batista dropping the belt on free TV. | Lord of the Manor

The tourney title shot will be on a RAW. Probably three weeks from tonight. This is so painfully obvious. The WWE isn't and doesn't need to be that creative about this.

| #10 Posted on 12.5.05 0148.04 Reposted on: 12.5.12 0150.07 | Well, my guess is one of two things will happen.
Triple H will put Batista over with no controversy (which is what should have happened at Backlash) or Batista will lose the title and Trips will hold it for most of the year until WrestleMania XXII.
In any event, I'm even less excited about Triple H/Batista III than I was about II. I was pumped for the WrestleMania main event, though, and it delivered. I just don't feel the need to see the same damn match over and over and over and over... | Monte
