But going by some of the names mentioned: I'd like to see Jerry Lawler vs Curt Hennig (heard it was quite good), Dusty Rhodes vs Tully Blanchard, Hulk Hogan vs Don Muraco (not the SNME one but an earlier, bloody, grudge match) and Bret Hart vs Randy Savage from SNME. | AWArulz

The Race/Flair match, with all the pre-match build-up plus clips of other Flair/Race matches, is on the Flair DVD. The Flair/Dusty and Snuka/Muraco are on the Steel Cage DVD, and there are a lot better Flair matches from Bash '86 than this match with Dusty. Hell, if they want Flair/Dusty from '86, put on the Flair regaining the belt match where Dusty passed out due to the pain of the Figure 4. Lawler/Von Erich is an interesting bloodbath, plus it is the greatest example of politics run amuck. I have a question on the Lawler/Von Erich feud though: I know they faced each other numerous times in Dallas, but did Kerry ever venture into Memphis during '88? | Swatkid84

If so, I remember that match from when I was 3 years old and was upset at the decesion.

| #6 Posted on 10.5.05 1702.25 Reposted on: 10.5.12 1715.53 | The Wrestlemania III match with Steamboat and Savage is a very good match, but probably the most overrated of all time. First of all, the psychology is absolutely horrible; probably worse than any you're likely to find in a match considered classic.
Let me paint you a picture. Your enemy takes a ringbell, leaps onto your neck with it and crushes your larynx. He hates you, is threatened by you, and tries to end your career. You are in agony, and nearly choke on your own blood. No one thinks you will ever be able to wrestle again, but you defy the odds and prove everyone wrong and return, to get your big revenge in a title match at the biggest show in the industry, figuratively and literally. And when you finally, finally get that no good sonofabitch in the ring, where you can legally do anything to him you...you...
You give him armdrags? You try to pin him a bunch of times? You come out with a borderline retarded cornerman? It just doesn't make sense. When you watch that match, they don't even do anything, it's just a lot of near falls.
I know I'm treading on thin ice criticizing this match, but come on, if it wasn't mired in nostalgia and if it wasn't staged in front of such a massive crowd, there's no way this would considered timeless.

HMD, I have to admit that you're right. Compare this to the recent Austin/HHH feud where H had Rikishi hit Austin with a car, so Austin dropped a car with H in it off of a forklift, so H cost Austin the title and beat him into a bloody mess, and the whole thing culminated in a great grudge match at No Way Out 2001.
And then they became good friends for no apparent reason. | Has-been

Not sure if it counts - on Foley's Greatest Hits and Misses the Bulldogs make an appearance as part of "Jack Foley"'s *first* match..the one he talks about in his book. Brutal Squash, as Cactus gets no-sold, stiffed, and dropped on his head. Good stuff!

At the time gutsy to run MSG twice in 3 weeks. Worked out pretty well. Youngblood vs. Flair will be interesting. Glad to see the first of the Flair/Steamboat trilogy is viewable to those who didn't want to buy Vince's son-in-law's DVD. At least it is a Flair/Rhodes match they haven't released yet. Never thought a Billy Jack Haynes match would make a DVD. Although seeing Arn and Wahoo from '85 is good, if they were going for a tag title match from Starrcade '85, I'd prefer them going Rock 'n Roll Express vs. Ivan and Nikita Koloff for the NWA Tag Titles in a cage. They are going to need to show Piper's entire entrance from War To Settle the Score. This and the Road Warriors DVD being released on the same day will mean nostalgia fans will be going twice into the pocket. IF purchasing online, clicking the SPEND icon might be a good idea. | The King of Keith

Just a late-70's/early 80's jobber, from what I remember. Was always at the MSG and Boston Garden shows from that era. He also had something of a comeback in the early 90's as part of the Philadelphia predecessor to ECW (Tri-State?). | StaggerLee

Besides Vince never remembering Real American was for someone other than Hogan, the timeline might prevent a Windham/Rotundo Real American match from ever occurring. They lost the tag belts on the cigar in the eyes to Windham from Valiant, leading to Beefcake/Valentine winning the belts in the Spectrum, in August '85. The Wrestling Album didn't come out until after that point. Thus, they were still using Springsteen's Born in the USA. Windham was back in Florida by the time the music changed, and any Real American US Express match would be the Spivey/Rotundo version. Perhaps one or two of these exist, before Hogan realized the music from his cartoon show sucked and stole Real American. | Mr. Boffo
