That was answered tonight in the way of Fatty Savol singing twice.

Last week I put Killa as my avatar as a joke. Tonight Killa won me over. He friggin NAILED On Broadway -- NAILED IT. That's the best lower range performance he's done, and the best performance he's done yet. And his huge F-U to Simon afterward did me in. Then he did a really good job on the 2nd song as well . . . and he started laying on the cockiness. Him making the comment on "Well, I dunno. I guess I need to pick me some songs for next week" sealed the deal for me. God forbid the wifebeating fatass was likable tonight, and I am officially on the Killa Savol bandwagon. Yes, I need help.
Bo tho . . . Wow. Just f'n Wow. He was incredible with both of his songs tonight. Bo and Killa, YOUR Final Two for American Idol.
Anthony was all kinds of eh. Vonzell's voice is amazing, but she hasn't done a single song all year that left me with goosebumps. Carrie was really good, but she did seem a bit . . blah in her second song. Trouble from her was amazing however.
Bottom 3? Anthony/Vonzell/Carrie, with Anthony going home.
P.S. I tried dialing in for all five people from 30 minutes after the show went off the air until 60 minutes after it went off the air. Anthony I tried once, and got right thru. VOnzell I only tried once, and it was busy. Killa and Bo were IMPOSSIBLE to get through for the most part, but we did make it through a good bit. Carrie was . . . . . very easy to get through. We got through on 80%+ of our Carrie attempts. Make of this what you will. | Packman V2

| #4 Posted on 4.5.05 0027.18 Reposted on: 4.5.12 0027.20 | Tonight's show was pretty darn good and I'm sure it'll be a close call, ending with Vonzell, Scott and Anthony in the bottom three. Anthony will be sent home based purely on the fact that he had the chance to turn in two strong performances and he missed with his first song. Everyone else pretty much passed with both songs.
I try not to get into that whole 'Scott Savol/Killa' business, but people are totally over his past. They think he represents someone who made a mistake and since the woman forgave him, you know, that foxy sista that was sitting in the audience, everyone else should get over it. I didn't care much for his cockiness tonight, but his performances were something to be happy about.
Funny thing is that the more I look at Scott, I think he looks like comedian Ralphie May, if Celebrity Fit Club had gone on for another 4 months.

Based on last night's performances, Anthony should go home.
Best to worst was: Bo Carrie Vonzell Scott Anthony
Carrie can sing her ass off, but she has NO expression and NO sass. I could stand her much more if I didn't have to WATCH her. Vonzell put in another strong performance, although her songs may not have connected. Bo killed them all. | Grimis

Are we talking about the same Carrie? That was one of the better female blues performance I have heard in a long time, and she nailed both the signing and the presenatation.
I would also like to say that Bo did an absolutely amazing job with Stand By Me, a song that people have ruined for years. | JayJayDean

| #7 Posted on 4.5.05 0816.16 Reposted on: 4.5.12 0816.20 | Carrie isn't OOZING with charisma on stage, but she'd make a perfectly acceptable country/pop-artist, because not too many of those women do much more than Carrie's "You've Got Another Thing Coming" shoulder wiggle, and those who do (like, say, Celine Dion) just completely annoy me.
I missed Sergei's first performance and got home in the middle of Scott's first one. Mrs. JJD proclaimed Sergei's first song "terrible", so I'm sure he's going home.
I thought Simon was basically insuring Sergei's demise with his faux criticism of Vonzell, which was really just a big reminder to get her fans to vote, IMO.
I thought Bo was awesome, and I give him and Carrie credit for thinking outside the box a little bit with their second song choices, because I was thinking "'Heaven', REALLY?" for Bo and he pulled that off, then Carrie's Rascal Flatts-song was really good. I'd like to see Carrie's knees one time, though, just so Simon could lay off the "old-fashioned"-business. You could tell he wanted to go there last night. | Parts Unknown

That's one of the things I like about Carrie: she doesn't need to add a bunch of faux pizzaz to be effective. She doesn't have to stand on the judges' table, throw her glasses, kick at the camera, or flash a huge muggy smile all the time (like Vonzell). She simply BRINGS IT and what she brings is powerful, beautiful, and sincere. She has the same thing going that Bo has, in the sense that she looks like a natural. Her performances remind me of something a mature, poised artist of many years would do. | Wpob

Ever since Scott first started in the top 12, I thought he looked like a white wannabe-thug: The white kid from the suburbs who always wanted to be a gangsta. And anytime Simon would say anything negative about him, he's get this look on his face like he was going to jump down to the judge's table and stab his ass (still does -- look at last night after Scott's Brian McKnight performance). When the domestic violence rap came out on him, that was just the icing on the cake.

OOOOOOHH! Okay... I gotcha now. I thought you were just being a smartass this whole time.
I agree with your assessment totally though. When he first came in, he was trying to act as though he was of the streets, but that died. Now, he has a stylist, as he pointed out, and last night his lips were all glossy. He's far from what he initially came in as. That's why I say he looks like Ralphie May now. | dunkndollaz

Sergei Fedorov sucked - he is going home.
Bo picked the perfect song in "Stand By Me" and did a credible job with "Heaven" - he is looking real good for the final 2
Vonzell - good but generic to me - we will see more of her in the future but no more so than we have seen Kimberly Locke to date
Carrie - great first song - nice second song - I can see her having a nice career whether she wins this thing or not. Like JJD said, she's not doing anything different from the current crop of country cuties on the charts - she reminds me a little of Miranda Lambert (# 3 on the first season of Nashville Star) in looks and voice.

So are you buying into the votefortheworst.com efforting to vote for Scott to keep him around? Do you think they have enough manpower to keep him in this thing? As the number of contestants gets smaller that's going to get harder to do.
I think DrOp had the order exactly right up there a few posts back. Bo, Carrie, Vonzell, Scott and Sergei. My wife doesn't like it when I call him Sergei. He's seems like a nice guy and all, but I bet there are several karaoke singers on this board that are as good as he is. | Bullitt

Contestants should learn they shouldn't mouth off to Simon. Scott's comments before Cowell gave his critique of Scott's second song would have just egged me on to bad mouth him.

I also think Sergei is a talented SINGER, but he needs to be worked with by a pro because he's really all over the place on his own. I'm telling you, he'll be worth a LOT of hryvnias when his Ukrainian pop record blows up. You know it's coming. | fuelinjected

They should also realize that if it weren't for Simon, they probably wouldn't be there because there wouldn't be this mega hit American Idol show.
