| #1 Posted on 3.5.05 1050.57 Reposted on: 3.5.12 1056.24 | I like to use AOL IM to talk to a select number of individuals. But while I'm talking to them, I'm exposed to my whole list of high school and college people I've added to my buddy list over time who feel the need to bother me. I have no problem saying hi, but when I'm having a private conversation I don't want 5 other IM windows popping up and blinking all the time.
Sooo...
Is there any way to instill an invisibility feature like Yahoo's IM has? So that no one can tell if I'm online or not? Or is there some sort of software that will do this or something? I'm trying to stay away from Trillian. | Promote this thread! | | EddieBurkett

I think they introduced it in 5.5.x. I remember seeing it about a year ago when I upgraded. | uberlou

One AIM pet peeve I have, on the Mac version, you can actually still send messages if you're away. On the PC version, if you're away and you send a message, it automatically sets you online. But now that I know about invisible mode, I can just use that if i'm avoding people | Paul

Or you could just use Trillian 3 because it's nice and smaller than AIM and connects to Yahoo and MSN and ICQ and has stupid emoticons that make sounds. Oh and no stupid advertisements. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
