I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in Wrestling. The Random board, upon further review, seemed more appropriate for this. This was taken from an IM last night while I was watching RAW, from my current girlfriend:

Rage's woman says: so, I was watching smackdown the other night and I think I found a wrestler I like
Rage's woman says: LOL
Rage says: LMAO - and who might that be?
Rage's woman says: haha.well, I have a lot to learn, but he caught my attention..Paul London
Rage says: No shit. Paul London? Anything in particular about him?
Rage's woman says: eh, just the dark hair and he's not so flashy..at least from what I saw
Rage's woman says: I like the aero stuff..slips in the air are pretty cool
Rage's woman says: flips
Rage says: Ah, you like the flying cruiserweight stuff, huh? We have to show you some stuff from WCW in the 90s, not to mention see if we can find any Japanese and Mexican stuff. If you like the flips, lucha libre and the Japenese stuff will be totally cool.
Rage's woman says: haha, u have to admit, that is talent...he doesn't ahve to fake that...
Rage says: Hey, I did the cruiserweight stuff, too. Hell, the WWE kinda waters down their cruiserweight stuff. But Paul London IS good, I'll give you that.
Rage's woman says: haha, well, thank u...and cool for u too MUAHHH

I do sorta kinda question the whole thing about Paul London's current Ultimate-Warrior-esque look as being "not so flashy." But on a show where there's the Bashams, JBL, the Smackdown Divas, and she's actually smart enough to dig Paul London? And humble enough to admit that she's still got a lot to learn about it?

I think I'm in looooove. :)

I think that any woman who digs the midcarders more than the main eventers, esp. the cruiserweights, is a keeper.

Don't let go of her, Rage!

The Lovely Mrs. Tracker's sister is in the Peace Corps in Swaziland. Every once in a while, she joins the PC kids in their group office to catch TV, and SD will be on. She can name only one wrestler from the show, and it's Paul London, or as she says, "the cute guy with the moon boots."

I took my ex to her first wrestling show. RoH's "Honor Invades Boston", and she insisted on leaving before Briscoe v Briscoe and Low-Ki v AJ Styles. I stayed.

I took my present girlfriend to her first wrestling show. RoH's "War of the Wire", and by the end of the night, she was a mark for Samoa Joe and the Second City Saints.

That's when I knew.

Any woman who is open enough to try and get into wrestling because you like it is a keeper. I personally will try and hide my love for it until around the retirement stage. What's she gonna' do at age 60? Laugh? Run away scared? I highly doubt it.

Mine admits to watching wrestling for awhile when she was younger with her cousins. I'm thinking somewhere around the last big wrestling boom. She's watched a little bit of RAW and Smackdown on me on occassion but she doesn't seem to get into it at all, which makes me feel bad making her sit and watch it. heh. I've been really trying to get her into London (I didn't think it'd be that hard since it seems all the ladies drool over him), but no dice. I guess she just doesn't dig wrestlers. huh. She has agreed to go to an indy show with me someday, when the timing is right (since she's at school in San Diego most of the time). Indy shows are just a totally different experience, and i'm hoping this'll finally pique her interest some. i'm not really even trying to turn her into a fan or anything, just trying to make sure she can watch this stuff with me and find some entertainment value in it, or else this'll never work out!

(...that's a joke, btw)

My buddy Chip (who is mildly retarded) and I were surfing after I came by to fix his computer, and saw this thread. Sometimes it takes a simple mind to see the obvious, but Chip beat me to the suspicion that Rage's woman is purely a figment of his imagination.

If you can imagine a woman who likes both you and rasslin, it sure adds a touch of reality is her favorite is Paul London. Much moreseo than if you said her favorite was the stuttering guy Morgan, the very bland OJ, or Big Vis.

For your sake, Rage, I hope Chip's wrong on this one. Don't become a sad sack at that young an age.

My girlfriend watched Raw this week and pointed out to me that Shelton Benjamin is "fun to watch." She also noted that Shawn Michaels' bald spot disqualifies him from continuing to call himself a "sexy boy."

Well, Mrs. Shem's only comment on Paul London that I can remember is "What's with the tassels?" So maybe some women are immune to his charms ... or she's better at hiding it than I thought.

My girlfriend didn't watch it until I moved down, and always threatens to quit watching, and never does. She's not into it as much as I am...but hey, it works.

My wife thinks Paul London is cute, too. I think it's the hair.

She's always liked particular wrestlers, but not so much wrestling as a genre. She knows more about it than she probably wants to, and humors me sometimes by watching with me. As far as she's concerned, though, all wrestlers must bow down before the Rock and, since he's not wrestling anymore, she's lost a bit of interest. Still, she likes RVD, London, Shawn Michaels, and Jericho. She always mocks me for liking HHH and doesn't quite understand why I like Chris Benoit. Even though she doesn't particularly like him, she can see what I'm saying when I call Eddie Guerrero the greatest wrestler on earth. So, all in all...yeah, I'm damned lucky.

If Sting ever comes back, though, I'll definitely get her to watch more often. :)

Definitely don't make a big production of it, but sometime arrange to casually flip on the Confidential segment on Chris Benoit's "Meat Locker" photo shoot. (It's on the Benoit DVD -- disk 2, last chapter.) See if that gets any reaction. I found him to be totally adorable in that -- I wish they could figure out how to get more of that into his work personna -- & if we think they're cute, we may get more interested in the rest of the deal. :-)

My "problem" is basically that I have fairly low tolerance for ignorance and/or stupidity. I can't say as I'm completely sure of which you've displayed thus far in your posting career. If it's ignorance, we can fix that...maybe. If it's stupidity, the door's that way and let's not bother. Of course, I'm pretty sure you've been here before, so you know ALL of this and are just looking for trouble. <shrug>

Mate, all i did was ask if the picture was that of John Wayne Gacy because IMO it bears some resemblence to the notorious serial killer.
