Long segment before the taping of the show (although they did film it, so part of it may appear on this week's program) saw the Heartbreakers come out to thank everyone for their support and say their goodbyes. Looks like they're heading up to RAW for good now. Unfortunately, without Mo' Green, who stated that he'll be looking out for his next team soon in OVW. Too bad about Morris, as he really did help to get that team over with the audience.

With Morgan going up to Smackdown, I half-expected to see him come out with the OVW Championship belt and forfeit the championship so that he would be free to concentrate on Smackdown. Instead, it appears that they're setting up a program between him and TV Champion Brent Albright for the Six Flags Summer Sizzler Series that'll last until August.

Big treat for the older fans of OVW was the return of Flash to the ring for a match against Albright as well. Funny reaction from the crowd - you could tell which of the fans had been around since the early days of OVW by who they were cheering in the match.

Anyway, turned out to be a good show tonight.

Oh, and it appears that WWE has been having the RAW Divas come down to OVW to practice being match announcers. They had one last week and one this week for the dark matches. I never can remember who is who, so I can't tell you who they were, however. Both were ... mediocre, to be nice about it. But they've got to start somewhere to learn that craft.

Now if only they sent the WWE writers down to OVW to learn in the same manner.

Just out of interest, has there been any mention of a guy from the UK called Paul Birchall? I believe he's been at OVW for around 6 weeks now, after being scouted the last time they filmed RAW in the UK. Watch out for him, he's got the look, the size and power, yet flies around like a cruiser weight.

Can't say I have, Jonny, but it usually takes a while before the audience starts seeing the new guys, even in dark matches. If I see him sometime soon, I'll try to pass it along.

Funny thing - I was making a tape of episodes from March of 2004 for a friend and there was a run-in by Linda Miles during a Johnny Nitro/Matt Cappotelli match (they had just started a singles feud at the time). Into the ring came two "OVW employees" to pull Miles off of Cappotelli.

The unnamed employees were Steve Lewington, an big face with the OVW crowd now, and Elijah Burke, who became OVW Champion just before Christmas and lost the belt to Matt Morgan last week.

Just funny to see these two guys playing anonymous roles on the show less than a year before they became wellknown there.
