Oh, man, that VP is a fucking train wreck.

Buchanan tried to hide his initial concern when Tony pointed it out, but you could tell that he and Michelle were both shitting bricks about this guy being at the helm. I guess it understandable for the guy to be scared, but his outward displays of weakness are just not even remotely presidential. Actually, that's just another thing that makes 24 so awesome...even if we dislike the character, and he displays traits that we don't see in similar characters on other shows, it is very human.

Jack ruled all sorts of ass with this quote:

"This is for the pain."

Edgar looks to be getting closer and closer to the edge. I really would like to see him just beat the shit out of somebody. He deserves that much release after everything he's done. Maybe feed him Tony for three minutes. Oh, and I totally hope him and Chloe hook up in the final hour.

Holy shit that episode ruled.

I was waiting from the moment they brought Prado in for Edgar to go all Jack Ruby on him. I'm sort of surprised he didn't, but CTU needs some kind of lead, as they've been selling Marwan's offense for several hours now.

So, do we now build to Jack vs. Marwan at that nightclub? There are 6 episodes left, though, and Jack is too close to Marwan to delay for another 5 hours. And the warhead is a mere 32 miles away. I suppose we can simply anticipate a few bait-and-switches between now and then.

As for Edgar, maybe he can find that guy in the parking lot and finish the job for Jack.

And yeah, the veep sucks. But the head of the secret service has a new plan, that will make him feel better about his safety, which most likely involves stepping down for someone Novick has hand-picked. Novick is totally the shadowy mastermind here. He's the Jack Bauer of intrigue and subterfuge.

I assume the guy Novick is going to bring in will be Palmer as a means of redemption for his betrayal in season 2. Remember, at the end of season 2, Novick came through and helped the good guys win. So he wasn't really bad, he just made the wrong call.

How exactly is it 32 miles away? It's been about twenty years since I've made the drive across country, but as far as I remember, the drive from Los Angeles to somewhere between Iowa and Illinois is more than 32 miles. Not to mention, they're somewhere in "mountainous terrain." Haha, that was funny. The show has been going downhill week by week, with incredibly lazy writing. The only good thing about the episode was the way they cut the ex-Marine loose for jack to interrogate...

So is the warhead going to Chicago? I can't think of any big cities between Jefferson City, IA, and Chicago. If they go west, I guess Des Moines maybe? Maybe up to the twin cities in Minnesota? Any way, there's no way Jack can get to this warhead in the next 6 hours unless they put it on a plane. I suppose the terrorists finally found a plan that works... don't do your dirty work anywhere near LA, even if you think Jack Bauer now works in Washington. And I also enjoyed the "mountainous terrain" part.

I really hope Edgar gets to kick some ass later on. Give the guy some credit, he already stopped the meltdown of what, 105 nuclear power plants? If only he checked his hourlies like he's supposed to.

Because in the episode's final segment, that's what the guy says. Marwan calls, and the truck driver says he is "32 miles" away. It's possible that I'm hard of hearing, but I'm pretty sure thats what he said.

Now, 32 miles from what, I guess we don't know. But you're probably right thinking it's not CA. ;)

Does anyone else find it somewhat ridiculous that the US military would transport nuclear weapons around in lightly guarded trucks? I hate to keep nitpicking, but is there some continuity established in the earlier seasons where they do this? Because otherwise, theres no way the Army drives Nukes down highways on a daily basis.

Damn, I'm missing everything. I keep hearing that they said the Stealth BOMBER was shot down, but I must have missed that. I seriously don't remember hearing it. As somebody who drives through LA somewhat frequently, the transportation rules they're using this season are insane. If only I was able to get anywhere in town in five minutes, or have somebody show up three minutes after I give them a call.

I'll assume that the "32 miles away" thing is them talking about some non-target in the middle of nowhere. Maybe they're going to nuke Riverfront Stadium...oh wait...

Logic clearly doesn't apply to the show anymore. If it did, Marwan wouldn't be able to get away from a helicopter in the middle of the desert. If it did, Marwan wouldn't escape CTU by going upstairs and then waiting in plain sight for a van to pick him up. The plans Marwan has made this season are so incredibly ridiculous and they're all just a distraction for an even bigger more convoluted plan. I'm guessing that eventually it'll be revealed that Marwan's plan is to drop the nuke in a volcano or something...oh wait, would the church of Scientology then sue the producers of 24 for stealing their ideas?

Yeah this show is getting more unlikely by the week. How did Marwan know that shooting down AF1 would release the Football? How did Marwan know within a 30 mile radius were a nuke would be transported at? How did that Amnesty Global guy get to CTU with a signed court order in 15 minutes? Why didn't CTU just charge the mercenary guy with murder since he shot someone anyway?
I like the show. I can ignore that Jack can get stabbed and hit by a car and shows zero side effects. I just wish they would make the Marwan plots simpler. He should have known where a nuke was at and just needed the Football for the activation codes. If they show Marwan with a missile capabale of carrying the nuke then the show will have gone way over the line.

Prado told Jack that Marwan was going to some place, and when they showed Marwan, it looked like he was at a club. Wouldn't it rule if it was a club, and Marwan had to dance on the floor to avoid Jack? Oh, man, that would kick ass...

Spoilers:

Spoiler Below: Highlight text to read
If you saw the previews, you know that David Palmer is coming back. Here is some dialogue for next week:

Palmer: I know how to catch Marwan.

Logan (shaking): H-h-how?

Palmer: It's this new technique.

Logan (shaking): W-w-what is it?

Palmer: It's called a sweep....and swoop.

Ha, ha, seriously, if you check out 24's us.imdb.com site under guest appearances, you will see that Chase Fuckin' Edmunds is coming back. It also looks like Tony's skanky hottie will be back for an episode as well. I wonder if Chase, who works for a private security company now, I guess, will somehow be involved with fighting the terrorists in the midwest?
