Reposted on: 16.4.12 2333.36 | Really a good show, overall. Good opening fight that got the crowd into it, and St Pierre looked REALLY good. Definitely a future Welterweight Champion, from the looks of that fight.
Kind of a lackluster second fight, but a nice finish with the guillotine. Lindland did look decent, but I can't understand why people would be dodging him, and he didn't look like championship material.
The Welterweight Championship match was electric, and really mind blowing. I thought Hughes was KO'ed at the beginning, and I have no idea how he got back in it. Also, his picking up and slamming of Trigg was unbelievable. Hughes definitely proved his greatness as champion in that fight.
Unfortunately, the Couture-Liddell fight was short, because I have never seen as electric a crowd as in the beginning of that fight. Nothing really to say about the fight itself, except that, on replay, the KO punch was totally devastating. And all I can say for Chuck, is that it takes A LOT of balls to call out Vanderlei Silva, and I would love to see that fight.

Something went obviously wrong with Randy at the beginning of the fight, but we will probably never know what it was. After they restarted the fight, he just swung wildly(as if he were Chuck) and got caught in the chin with his left arm away from his body. | StaggerLee

Reposted on: 18.4.12 0105.04 | I am a big Randy fan, but lets be honest, he got knocked fucking silly. Chuck kicked his ass all over the place. The only way the knockout punch looked devistating was when they showed the slow motion replay. Tagged him directly on the jaw.
Pretty good card overall. I was happy withmy purchase. This is the fist UFC I have bought on PPV, and might end up being a regular customer, instaed of waiting for the DVD to get to the video store.

I do wonder if the alledged eye-poke would have been viewed differently if Matt Hughes hadn't come back from a knee to the pills so strongly (Matt Hughes is a stud).
George St. Pierre is also a machine, but "Mayhem" Miller was like a greased friggin' pig. Some beautiful jockeying for position and some nice escapes, though.
The guillotine choke was a sweet ending to a so-so fight. And I loved the triangle choke.
As for the main event, I tend to agree with those who say Couture looked like he was willing to trade with Lidell. Eye-poke or not, I don't think that would have gone well for him. | spf

While I know there is a certain amount of problems with this sort of logic, it's hard for me to see Liddell having much of a chance against Vanderlei, after Jackson owned Liddell when they fought, and Vanderlei has owned Jackson. Unless Vanderlei had something essential taken out of him by the loss to Mark Hunt, I can't see him not dispatching Liddell with ease. | ShotGunShep

Randy outboxed Liddell the first time they fought. He kept smacking Chuck with jabs while Chuck swung wildly. I am not apologizing for Randy(because anything can happen in MMA), but something went wrong this time and he decided to just swing leather and hope for a knockout. | orangeman

If it's Pride rules where Wanderlei can use his soccer kicks, stomps to the face, four point knees to the head and such, no one in his weight class stands much of a chance.
