BAM! [Courtesy MillarWorld]

MARKET SHARE:

Marvel: 41.6% dollar share, 48.96% unit share
DC: 25.69% dollar share, 28.32% unit share
In layman's terms, 41.6% of all money made off of comics in March was Marvel's, while they sold just under half of all comics sold in March.

TOP 30:

1 [DC] Countdown to Infinite Crisis #1
2 [MAR] New Avengers #4
3 [MAR] Ultimate Iron Man #1
4 [MAR] Astonishing X-Men #9
5 [MAR] Wolverine #26
6 [MAR] Ultimates 2 #4
7 [DC] Superman #214
8 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #1
9 [MAR] Secret War Book Four
10 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #2
11 [MAR] Ultimate Secret #1
12 [MAR] Uncanny X-Men #457
13 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #3
14 [MAR] X-Men #168
15 [MAR] Ultimate Spider-Man #73
16 [MAR] Ultimate X-Men #57
17 [MAR] Ultimate Spider-Man #74
18 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse One-Shot
19 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #4
20 [MAR] X-Men: Age of Apocalypse #5
21 [MAR] X-Men: Phoenix End-Song #4
22 [MAR] Amazing Spider-Man #518
23 [MAR] Young Avengers #2
24 [MAR] Ultimate Fantastic Four #16
25 [MAR] X-Men The End: Heroes and Martyrs #1
26 [DC] Teen Titans #22
27 [DC] JLA #112
28 [MAR] Marvel Knights Spider-Man #12
29 [DC] Batman #638
30 [MAR] X-23 #4

OTHER NOTABLES:

33 [MAR] Daredevil #71
35 [MAR] Black Panther #2
36 [MAR] Spectacular Spider-Man #26
39 [MAR] Fantastic Four #524
40 [MAR] Captain America #4
47 [DC] Seven Soldiers: Shining Knight #1
50 [DC] Seven Soldiers: Guardian #1
68 [TCOW] Rising Stars #24
70 [MAR] Runaways #2
91 [DC] Ex Machina #9
133 [DC] 100 Bullets #59

Also, tons of reorders for Black Panther #1, Astonishing X-Men #8 (and #7), Young Avengers #1, Phoenix Endsong #3 and Runaways #1

All I can say for DC is...OUCH. Of course, no more Identity Crisis and Superman/Batman & Green Lantern: Rebirth running way late probably doesn't help things much. Still, 2 comics in the Top 25 (and one of 'em being a BUCK) doesn't look good at all.

Definitely doesn't look good, and it's a shame because DC produces far better material, in my opinion. The only X-book worth reading is Astonishing, with the rest ranging from poor to absolutely dreadful.

The four mini-series leading into Infinite Crisis are expected to sell very well...so well, in fact, that DC's warning that it may not be able to print enough copies of Day of Vengeance to match demand on time. So those'll certainly sell big, at first at least.

The delays are hurting DC, yes, but Marvel's much worse with that...doesn't seem to affect their sales, though. I wonder what DC's distribution is compared to Marvel and if that has anything to do with it.

Gosh, it really does seem to be true that Marvel can slap an "X" on a piece of toilet paper, charge $2.99, and watch it vault into the top 30. Wow.

Perhaps, but I'd say the overall quality of the X-books is the highest it's been in years. Astonishing is, of course, astonishing, but Millingan's adjectiveless is picking up steam I think, and Pheonix Endsong is absolutely my favorite book that I'm reading right now. Seriously, if you're not reading Endsong, get moving. Shame about anything Claremont's writing, of course, and most of the solo series are terrible, but you can't have everything.

I forgot to mention the AoA stuff, which has also been pretty good, but not nearly as good as the original AoA. I don't think anyone was expecting it to be THAT good, though.
