Here's hoping Pavano gets out of the hospital soon. But was it REALLY necessary to point out that the line drive came one pitch after Jason Giambi missed a routine pop up? Seems like rubbing salt in the wounds.

I saw this, and it was pretty nasty, but Pavano didn't seem to immediately have any problems, so that's good. He was actually lucky because it hit him in the side of the head rather than the back of the head or his face. Still, I bet he didn't feel too lucky walking back to the dugout.

I hate to say but Pavano is a pretty tough SOB to have that ball knock him upside the head and not even get knocked or anything, I hope he's ok, and that has nothing to do with him being on my fantasy baseball team....seriously, it doesn't.

I remember a few years ago I was watching the Red Sox play... somebody... in this nice seafood restaurant. The Red Sox's pitcher pitched the ball, the opponent hit it and the ball fucking SLAMMED into the pitcher's head. No side impact, no glancing blow, it fuckin' hit him right in the dead center of the head.

I immediately jumped to my feet and almost said "HOLY SHIT!" in shock and horror-- but fortunately, I remembered where I was. I certainly used some slightly milder expletive, though.

I hope Pavano's gonna be OK, because you hate to see anybody get hurt like that. And I'm not easily confused for a Yankees fan, either.
