1) There are some apartment buildings by where I used to live that have been since knocked down that are in the picture.
2) Looking at Dolphins Stadium, the end zones read IOWA and USC, which was the Orange Bowl that year.

Woohoo! I hope it would just like Google's, because then they would never find me!  Even with the 4-digit addon to the zip code, they still have my house in the wrong town. Nor do they have our local arena, which has been opened since 1999. That whole area has been redeveloped in the last 6 years but the map still has it as a giant green area with no zoom available. The resolution on those ballparks and in some of the bigger cities is amazing, though. It's pretty cool to combine this with driving directions and have the false sense of security that one might never get lost again. | JoshMann

several years ago (Before my Dad had his stroke, at least 5 years) and we could see the doghouses and garden in the backyard.
I have used these images when checking out vacation rental property. If the listings are recent you can figure out how far it is to Walmart, the highway exit, or even just to the community pool.
Did anyone else have trouble trying to locate Disneyworld - I wonder if the images are protected somehow?
The Grand Canyon, or Sonoma Valley would also be neat to see from higher up. | dwaters

I'm impressed by the accuracy of the Google Maps site. I mean...even for Canadian addresses. I tried my old house in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada....and the marker landed about six to eight houses away.
Funny how some cities are covered beautifully (like Toronto) but some suburbs (like West Valley City, Utah...which is near Salt Lake City) aren't.
I'm looking forward to seeing how this service develops in the future.
EDIT: The Terraserver site pinpointed the exact address I was looking for. Wow!
