Great episode this week. Vic was at his brutal best, going so far as to alert Los Prophetas (sp?) about a bad seed in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, for some reason this GANG couldn't be relied upon and roughed up a Chinese florist.

The scene in which Vic, Ronnie, and the K-9 cop caught the rapist was phenomenal. They have him trapped in a buidling, and the dog handler lets Fido loose on him. Once it is clear that the dog is using Oscar as a chew toy, Vic suggests that they take their time going in. They waited for a good minute, just listening to this deserving prick scream. The dog even (as recounted later by Rawling) ruptured one of this scumbag's testicles.

The best scene of the night was the tension between Dutch and Vic. I'm glad that the writers are showing these two as being at odds again. The back and forth tension between them was great, and I laughed out loud and Dutch's final line, "You're welcome, asshole."

Speaking of Dutch, it was absolutely heartbreaking to see him sell out, even if he is doing it to get his figurative job back. Maurice was an extremely sympathetic character, and when he gave Claudette some extra weed for her "mother's cancer," I just felt awful. Sure, this guy grows weed, but he's hardly the bane of society that the D.A. tried to have Dutch believe.

Acevada is looking outside of his marriage to his cold, bitchy wife for a little rough lovin'. Okay, borderline rape lovin'. His new hookup is kind of good looking in a weird, exotic way (read: at least she has a GREAT ass), and she is willing to be slapped but not bruised and choked but not killed. Holy shit, let's go meet mom. Seriously, this is very dangerous for a politican like ol' Ass Invader. I really can't blame him for drifting away from Aurora, even if she is hot, but he had better be careful.

Army...I thought he'd be a little more reluctant doing Shane's dirty work, but he seems to be fitting in well. I don't know if that is good or bad. Ah, well....

Clever bit I almost missed...Oscar the rapist's roommate's name: Felix. Awesome.

Next week should be great, as was this week.

Wow, I totally missed that.

I loved the police dog scene, as well. K9 Cop: "Yeah, he might still be armed".

I'm thinking that Aceveda's going to make a mistake and kill or hurt his new hooker friend.

Looks like Shane might get into a bit of trouble next week. I can't wait.

Aceveda's deal reminded me of the story from season 1 when a reporter was digging up some old story about a college girlfriend of his who was in to rough sex and when Aceveda wouldn't go past a certain point with her she trumped up some rape charges on him. Now he's got that mixing with the fact that he's getting off on rape, it doesn't exactly make for a safe political career as was mentioned before.

Also, I want to put the question out for everyone to take a run at...

Will Shane live through the season or not?

I have to say no.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. There is no way he is able to get away from this all without something really bad happening and I can't wait to see just what that is. Politician + Hooker = bad career move.

I really think this one is a no brainier and that would be a no as well from me. I think Vic has to shoot him because of all the things he could narc on Vic for (if Vic tries to take him down) or he ends up killing himself when he is about to get busted. Should be an interesting ride no matter what.
