I heard about it this morning and spent the better part of the day hoping it was a horrible early April Fool's Joke.

Well, the sources confirming it are quite the odd bunch. But it seems it was an overdose. Might have to go out and get his CD's now.

I was shocked when I saw this on ComedyCentral.com. He was really funny and seemed like a great guy. I picked up his CD last month, great work.

I've been a big fan of Mitch since I was in Junior High. I was at one his shows during his very first tour, and have seen him live 4 or 5 times since that. I've probably listened to his CDs about 50 times each. My university almost booked him for a show which would have been this past weekend (they opted for Lewis Black and Stephen Lynch instead). I'm going to go pop in Strategic Grill Locations now.

RIP Mitch Hedberg

Sucks to hear....one of the funniest guys I've heard..his delivery just kicked so much ass. I think a lot of his humor came from saying the obvious shit...it was too bad. :(

I was actually supposed to see him tonight here in Baltimore. My friend who was going with me called me this morning and told me. It is a terrible loss.

"Maybe I will buy a spray-n-wash can to hold stuff. One of my friends will ask me, 'Hey Mitch, can I borrow your spray-n-wash can?' And i'll say 'yeah, if you wanna spray your shirt....WITH DOCUMENTS."

Ouch. What a tremendously funny man. And I generally hate today's stand-ups.

He had a great part on "Home Movies" as the "Priest" at a cat's funeral. Good stuff.

This just plain sucks. I was just going to try to look to see if he had any upcoming tour dates. My girlfriend and I caught him opening for Lewis Black and Dave Attel a little over a year ago and we thought he stole the show. I just bought her his latest album on Saturday. And to top it off, not ten minutes ago I found out a guy I know from worked passesd away on Tuesday.

Man, that's sad. I loved his delivery, as he'd just tell his joke, and then move on to the next. No story-telling, no set-ups. Just joke-to-joke-to-joke.

One of my personal favorites is when he talked about people's personal memories ruining the true meaning of songs.

"We are the world. We are the children." "Hey, remember that song, honey? When I fucked you in the park?"

RIP, Mitch.

This really sucks, as Mitch was one of our favorites. I saw him on New Year's Eve 2003 and he was amazing. I have his Mitch All Together CD as well, and it is great. RIP Mitch.
