Fantastic article from ABCNews.com pimping WrestleMania XXI, John Cena, and workers on the small/big screen over the years.

Solid job...I dunno if they missed any details. Hell, they even threw TNA, Nash, Terry Funk, and the NWA a bone.

Just for that promise he needs to have his leg broke in four places and be on the shelf for a year.

The funny part is that he probably already knows whether he is going to win. So either he knows he's going to win and they already have a belt planned out, or he's going to lose and in that case he can promise whatever he wants "if he wins."

I know it's only a championship belt, but do we really need to see a spinning WWE Title? I mean, will people really think that that's cool? I guess they will as I've heard that that stupid spinning US Title Belt sells really well for them, so I guess I can't blame them for trying to make a few extra bucks on it.

The chasm was already jumped when Warrior went nuts and had the Crayola 16-pack of belts. Or with Austin and his Smokin' Skull belt. If Cena wants to have his Bling Bling Belt, I don't really see the harm in it. Especially if they think that there's a market for it.

And if people were fan enough to buy the Spinning US Title, there's nothing that doesn't make me think they wouldn't buy a Cena-customed WWE Title Belt. Besides, making money is what a #1 babyface is supposed to do.

If it didn't represent hip-hop no one would be complaining. People keep saying Austin's was great but I don't know who isn't dating his cousin who is affected by the inherent coolness of smoking skulls. I'm not a fan of anyone personalizing titles because it cheapens them, but why this time it would be so much worse than the other times is beyond me.

On another board I post on, a guy who works for the WWE stated that he has seen the John Cena "spinner" heavyweight champoinship belt. The source is fairly reliable, when he does know information, it usually pans out the way that he says, so I guess that does in fact mean that John Cena is winning the title on Sunday.

D'oh, and by posting that fact, the WWE knows it's leaked and will probably change the outcome.

Congrats, you cost Cena the title!

IIRC, he did say that it was just a prototype that he'd seen, so that doesn't really mean that he's winning or losing at Wrestlemania, just that they have plans for him to win the belt.

Where's the Springsteen avatar at, man?
Or is that Bruce?

I think in a way it reminds me of the Million Dollar Belt, which was cool as an accessory but I never liked it when it was actually fought over. Somehow it seems less earned than a traditional belt. Hell, can you imagine if HHH did something like that to the Big Gold Belt?

I really like the name plates, to me that is perfect... but hey it is a business first and foremost.

I think its fine to change the look of the title. It's a marketing thing, and it certainly fits Cena's character (they could even create a show called "Pimp Mah Belt").

It's not as though champions haven't done stuff like this before: think of Warrior with his multicolored title straps, Bradshaw and Dreamer with the customized Hardcore title, Lance Storm putting Canadian stickers on his various belts, and of course Cena's U.S. belt.

It's been brought to my attention that there are fully grown adults, firmly into their twenties, who still wear their jeans "bum style".

If people who have graduated from high school, who can vote and legally by alcohol, or who can even apply for a mortgage, still think they look cool with their asses hanging out of pants 6 sizes too large for them, then I wouldn't underestimate the appeal of a tricked-out, spinning, title belt with loads of "bling" within this demographic.

I'm not condoning it, of course, but only because it's obviously lame.

On the other hand, let's all be happy for Cruiserweight Champion Paul London.
