The turnover between Acevada and Rawling has officially taken place, and man, did he screw her good. That was just wrong, taking credit for her idea and screwing her with the Mackey situation. She looks to be a considerably different type of leader, though, setting up office on the ground floor and all. The scene where the toilet in the men's room flushed for the first time in like, 3 years was almost symbolic of the changing of the guard.
I honestly didn't know that was Peg Bundy as Gilroy's wife Nancy until my wife pointed it out. The whole storyline about his death served as an excellent representation of the possible parallels between he and Vic. The look that Corinne and Vic shared as they walked to different cars after Nancy's rant about Gilroy abandoning his family was amazing (as was Nancy's performance). In the past, Gilroy served as a warning to Vic about where he could be professionally if he didn't watch himself. Now, through his death, he is serving as a personal warning beacon. I can totally see Vic and Corinne, the world's most amicably divorced couple, getting back together. Peg Bundy. Last week it was Sherman Helmsley's daughter...hey, wouldn't it be awesome if SHERMAN HELMSLEY had played the DA? Oh, man, my heart just skipped a beat saying that.
Speaking of Corinne, did anybody notice some sparks flying between her and Dutch in the hospital? Oh, man, that has bad idea written all over it. Of course, Dutch is the kind of guy who would ask her out and think nothing is wrong with it. That is, if Claudette doesn't hook him up with her friend. That made me laugh out loud. "I can think of plenty of sisters I think are beautiful....Halle Berry, Tyra Banks, Beyonce..." I don't think that Dutch asking the question makes him a racist by any means, but it was funny to see him flounder after hearing him say something that irritated someone else...yet again. Dutch is my favorite.
"Cleanup...aisle 4!" Best line of the night. I could barely stand to watch that scene, though...ick.
A kind of unsettling episode overall, with Acevada's private viewing of surveillance narrowly edging out the underage tranny storyline as most disturbing material of the night. I did enjoy it, though...great episode. :)

It was kind of nice to see 3/4th of the strike team back in action for a little bit there. Where's Tavon, though? It would be a shame if they don't at least address what happened to him. Of course, I'm sure he'll show up sooner or later (maybe to join with Vic against Shane?), because the show has been very good at continuity and storyline followup.

I figured Katey Sagal (Peg Bundy) would show up sooner or later. She's married to Kurt Sutter, who is a writer/producer of the show. Kurt also played the invincible crazy foot-chopping Armenian (Margos) in seasons 1 and 3.

I thought the line of the night was "Park the Schwinn, shithead!" I rewound that about 10 times.

Episode should have been subtitled "Shane's Guide to Making Friends and Influencing People." He just doesn't have the...interpersonal work that gig like Vic did. He hasn't got an ounce of subtlety in him when dealing with someone other than a girl he wants to bang. The big thing I was left with at the end of the hour was that Shane's on his way to getting himself killed by the criminals he's trying to lord over.

Nah. I though it was "This is why you should always wear a helmut" right before he turned his car into the bike and sent the dealer flying over the hood of the parked car.

I just watched the tape and I thought it was a fantastic episode that sets the whole season up. The best line for me was "Money and pussy make men do evil shit.". I still hope they get to the Tevon stuff sometime though and don't just forget about it.
