| #1 Posted on 22.3.05 2231.05 Reposted on: 22.3.12 2235.33 | Sort of the "Empire Strikes Back" moment of this season. After a string of failures*, Marwan finally shows some chutzpah and puts the hurtin' on CTU. RIP Dina Araz as well (we assume).
I suppose this is the part in our season where Jack undergoes some sort of extreme trial and has to singlehandedly kill everyone with his bare hands. I harken back to his torture in Season Two. Strikes me as formulaic, maybe like a wrestling plotline. Jack opens with some strong offense, now the heel controls the match, though we all know (or do we?) that Marwan will do the J-O-B to Bauer by season's ends.
Side note: What's up with all the seemingly unrelated white people who want to kill the President? That guy who looks like David Caruso is pretty vicious.
*{Yeah, the bad guys managed to melt down a couple plants, but nothing like what they had planned)

I think she was outside waiting for that phone call. Note how they didn't show where she was very clearly. (Maybe she really WAS in the building).
Also, what were the "scenes from next week?" All I've heard is "someone shoots somebody," which I refuse to believe.

the two threads I remember are
- Fake Air Force Guy's plan to steal a plane is grounded due to terror alert - so he shoots a mechanic and takes it anyway
- Terrorists demand a Behrooz for Jack swap (for reasons completely unknown), and as they're walking towards each other, Marwan orders a sniper to shoot Jack.

Shortly thereafter she minimizes her browser and appears to be looking at some kind of command prompt. That's about all there is to it.

She had a site up that featured an image of Heller being held captive, which she closed when she got the call as if she thought someone from CTU was perhaps SPYING on her. And then when they asked her to come back, she SMIRKED! The seeds of doubt are planted! I can't believe she'd go bad though. Not Chloe. | #9 Posted on 23.3.05 0813.38 Reposted on: 23.3.12 0815.24 | I'm not normally that concerned with timing on TV/movies. I am more than willing to let time passage be just assumed and move on. But when a show's gimmick is about time, then shouldn't there be some expectation that the writers at least pay a little attention to that aspect? I don't think anyone can honestly say that the writers are even bothering to make sure the timing elements make sense.
Also, I'm not exactly thrilled with the rest of the storyline either. Didn't the whole kidnapping scheme strike anyone else has harebrained? Wouldn't Marwan have to be a complete idiot for this to work? Especially since he now knows Jack is a plant (at least he should). I really don't see how this plan works plausibly, unless it's known that Marwan attended the Dr. Evil school of terrorism.
This is my first go around with '24'. Initially I was hooked, but I'm having a harder time staying that way as the season moves on. Given the hooplah that I've heard about this show, I was expecting smarter writing. Is this a typical year for '24', or has the quality of the show dropped a little? | The Yak

| #10 Posted on 23.3.05 0831.25 Reposted on: 23.3.12 0832.34 | Good episode overall. Based on some of the clues here and there, I am thinking that this President may not be long for this world. There has never been a successful assassination attempt on this show, maybe Keeler will be the victim.
I like the Behrooz character and all, but recently he's been just all "Father," "Mawm," and "Why are you doing this?" Was this kid really involved in a terrorist plot? I can barely picture him as a shoplifter.
I love Chloe. I even think she's kinda hot. I am glad she's back to spread some attitude around. I also have to give big props to Edgar for standing up to Tony. I like Tony and all, but Edgar just singlehandedly saved 98 power plants from melting down, and then disarmed 5 more once they found the override. He's also dealing with his mother's suicide. Give the guy a little bit of credit.
This is a minor gripe, but what's the deal with the rotating credits? The season started off with Jack, Audrey, Erin, and Heller in the opening cast...then they rotated Sarah in there (and is she gone now?). Now Curtis is there...small gripe, I know, but what's up with that?
Edited for grammar...

| #11 Posted on 23.3.05 1123.27 Reposted on: 23.3.12 1126.17 | Chloe just used the same teleportation machine that Tony used. I guess there are some good perks with being a fired CTU agent. The rotating credits thing doesn't bother me. There is no point in showing Curtis if he isn't in the episode or doesn't do anything important. Hooray for Edgar. He should have told Tony,"hey look you drunk ass unemployed traitor I just shut down 114 nuclear power plants while you were beating your girlfriend so cut me some fucking slack." It's not like Tony could have beat Edgar in a fight (since he is Tony) or that Edgar's job is EVER going to be on the line. | thecubsfan

Do we know he was ordering the sniper to shoot Jack? It could be Behrooz that needs to get shot to kill off the whole Araz family in one day. And Dina deserved her fate for so callously killing Little Debbie. We hardly knew her! | The Yak

I think that the sniper had said something to the effect of "I've got Bauer in my sights," and then Marwan said "Kill him." It could have been Behrooz he was talking about (with clever editing), but it was leading towards Jack.
Another point that I forgot to make - big, big ups to Paul Raines. How many people have taken a bullet for Jack Bauer? I know it is expected when Jack goes all badass, but for Mr. Bean to do it was pretty impressive. He's about to run cockblock on him, too. I just hope he can walk again. | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
