And turning Monty Brown heel may have been the worst decision in the history of TNA (and there have been a lot of them).

| #2 Posted on 14.3.05 0830.49 Reposted on: 14.3.12 0834.21 | | I have to say I was one of TNA's biggest supporters but it is headed down now. I didn't see the ppv but the results don't look too promising. I'll probably find out a way to watch it eventually just to see Daniels finally win the X Division Title though, that was probably the only good thing done on the show. The Disciples of Destruction are back, Raven is still jobbing at every moment, instead of giving Monty Brown the belt, they turn him heel which means he's probably even less likely to win it now. And hey, even though I'm a Monty fan why do you hype a new guy like Trytan, bring him in, and have him lose his first match? It's also too bad they wasted Team Canada on 3LK and wasted Kid Kash on Cassidy Reilly and Jerelle Clark. | StaggerLee

Aside from the Ultimate X match, the best match was the pre-show match with Kid Kash & Lance Hoyt vs. Cassidy Reily & Jerelle Clark. Kash was great as always, but Lance Hoyt has really stepped up his game and was pretty impressive.

| #10 Posted on 14.3.05 1355.35 Reposted on: 14.3.12 1358.37 | The Ult.X match was pretty awesome. The rest -- well. Hm.
The thing that I didn't like about Ult.X was the ending, which was the EXACT same ending as the Nash/Outlaw first blood match, which was RIGHT BEFORE the Ult.X match -- special stipulation is acheived as the ref is down, shenanigans occur to make it appear that the heel was actually the one the acheive the stip, ref wakes up and makes the wrong call. Pretty lazy.
Turning Monty is CRAZY, and I can't help but wonder if it's some sort of political move to keep him out of the title hunt. Also, the end of his match was really shockingly stupid, although I'll point out to Quezzy that Trytan didn't really lose -- well, I don't know what I'd call the decision -- Trytan wasn't pinned, didn't submit, and wasn't DQ'd or counted out...but somehow Monty won. ALSO, two masked mystery men in one PPV is one too many, and probably two too many.
Shockingly, I don't mind the Phi Delta Slam, but I hate the Harris boys an awful lot. I hope they vanish again now that this feud is over.
I don't feel that I made a "mistake" in ordering it, because I'm a crazy fool for TNA, but I will say that I'm really disappointed with the way the booking's been going lately.
Oh, and cubs -- Mike Tenay also pointed out that Shocker was in the McDonalds commercials, although he did mention a few other accomplishments as well.

Not sure the point of that jab, as the quote above your post wasn't even from the Torch. Like Karlos mentioned, Tenay is the one who said it.
I'll agree that turning Monty was a surprise. I think Raven could be utilized on the creative team as well as he is in the ring, based on reactions that he's slowed down some. | thecubsfan

| #17 Posted on 15.3.05 1142.12 Reposted on: 15.3.12 1142.20 | Turning Monty Brown heel was beyond stupid, I agree, since he turned face b/c he wanted to take the World Title off Jarrett. The guy was very over too. They job him out and have him face a bum in Trytan to a non-finish and turn him heel. Talk about cutting a guy off at the knees.
Sometimes, the obvious thing is the right thing. They've been teasing BG James turning heel to join Billy Outlaw or whatever the Assman is called now. Reunite them and feud them with the ridiculously stale AMW. At least it gives them something to do.
And there has been worse booking decisions. Like say... the red-hot Raven/Jarrett feud that Raven didn't win or both of AJ Styles' World Title reigns (little about AJ, a lot about Russo).
TNA is supposed to be the alternative. Not WWE-lite.
X-Division is A-OK but the World Title scene is just awful, right now.

| #18 Posted on 15.3.05 1539.35 Reposted on: 15.3.12 1548.09 | I totally agree with Kawshen. Now that AJ has dropped the X title to Daniels, he should be moved back into the World Title scene. Daniels should start a heckuva good feud with Elix Skipper.
AJ's contract is supposedly up in September, so it should be interesting how he is used in the coming months.
I think everyone is just waiting for the New Age Outlaw reunion. But I've heard that they don't get along off-camera. Anyone know anything about that? | Jackson
