I normally know my music, but the songs that were number one the day I was born (September 10, 1977)are totally foreign to me. Interesting that Elvis had a number one a month after his death.

US: THE BEST OF MY LOVE - The Emotions
UK: WAY DOWN - Elvis Presley

I think this makes me & SOK the undisputed #1 SONG ON YOUR BIRTHDAY TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! (Probably not)

You know it's a great song when the refrain is as follows:

"When the going gets tough,"
"the tough get going."
"When the going gets ro-o-ough,"
"the tough get rough."

God, bad 80's pop. Thanks for putting that damn song in my head.
(edit - MrBoffo - mine is "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. Now *that* sucks.)

Also of note is their contention that the song on the charts on your 18th birthday is your "Life's Theme Song".

As such, my theme song is "All For You" by Janet Jackson. That sucks.

Regarding Dr. Demento, anyone interested may want to check out http://listen.to/demento for places where you can listen to Dr. Demento online, or http://mypage.iu.edu/~jbmorris/FAQ/stations.html for local stations. Or check out http://www.drdemento.com/ for other information.

So then mine is "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee-Gees. I think I am a winner!

That makes me feel old, considering that I owed the 45 of "I Love Rock n' Roll". You do know what a 45 is, right? Please say yes ...

    For me:

US: "Fire" by the Ohio Players
UK: "Everything I Own" by Ken Boothe
