Don'tknow if anyone's mentioned this here, but these guys are really taking this seriously. The gist of it is for them to get average Joe Star Trek fans to pony up close to $40 million bucks to pay for a fifth season of STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE since UPN saw fit to cancel it.

The nuttyness doesn't end there, it seems, as they've already gotten over $3 million in pledges thanks to unnamed fans in the space flight industry. Hell, I thought it was a some what worthy cause and even ponied up $50 through Paypal toward the goal. After reading the legal stuff, they're saying that if it doesn't work, I'll get my money back.

In all honesty, I know it won't work, but you know... what if it does? UPN won't bring the show back, but some other network might like Sci-Fi or SpikeTV; hell, Sci-Fi bought up the MAN-THING movie for christs sake; if they can find time on the schedule for THAT between reruns of TIME TUNNEL and SLIDERS, I'm sure they'd find room for ENTERPRISE, right?

Well at least check out the site, they've really put a ton of work into this campaign.

Yeah...but...should they bring back Enterprise? Its the lamest Star Trek series I've ever seen, and Captain Archer is a touchy feely scrub. The show was lucky to get the 4 seasons it did, was done a long time ago. Trekkies should give it a rest and hope that the hacks that control Trek right now don't screw up the next movie royally which they probably will.

I haven't seen more than a handful of shows, but from every report, it's generally accepted that the show got it's act together with new writers. Season four apparently was better than it had any right to be and thats why the outpouring of support. It was finally getting good.

I'm a huge trek fan, but I don't know why I don't watch the show. I guess since it's in the past, they really restricted. I mean, they can't have Earth get invaded or anything. It's not in the history books.

The counter-argument is that our history is their present, so anything can happen, but I'd hate to have to learn a whole new history for that universe.

Archer is an asshole which is a very annoying writers decision since Bakula is a pretty nice guy and can play nice guy roles.
As far as switching networks a lateral move in the Viacom networks of incompetence wouldn't makes things much better. Look at how Spike and UPN are treating WWE granted VKM is a pain in the ass but if they are willing to treat their (by far) best ratings show on TWO of their networks would things be any better on Spike? Moving Enterprise around to all kinds of shitty timeslots like Fridays at 8 and then deciding to cancel the show when it's still in the upper third of your crappy networks ratings. Viacon sucks.
As far as the prequel thing goes as long as you understand it's based in A Star Trek universe maybe not THE Star Trek universe you will be o.k. Otherwise your head will explode.

I saw this on

Enterprise To Get Spiked?

The Boston Herald reported that cable network Spike TV may be mulling whether to pick up UPN's canceled Star Trek: Enterprise. "It would definitely be something we would look at, and we know how devoted the show's fans are," Spike TV spokeswoman Debra Fazio told the newspaper.

UPN has said the current fourth season will be Enterprise's last, with the series finale set to air in May. Production on the final episode was expected to wrap this month. A UPN spokesperson told the Herald that the network's decision to cancel Enterprise is final, and no other network has come forward with an offer to pick the show up.

But fans have been vocal about lobbying for someone to pick the show up for a fifth season, and have even raised funds to pay for it themselves, claiming more than $3 million in pledges toward an estimated $36 million goal.

Spike TV already holds the rights to reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.

Sadly I don't see it happening but its good to dream though.

Yeah but then Enterprise would still be on the Viacom family of incompetent evil. Not really a better move.
