OK, I'll admit it. I had no idea this album was out. I was watching VH1 and the classic/current show had a back to back set of Erasure with the single Breathe as the current track - and I was impressed enough to get in the car and go buy Nightbird.
I really like this album a lot. If you've ever been a fan, I recommend picking it up, even if you were scared away by some of their more recent stuff. The best way that I can describe it is that it sounds like Erasure crossed with the techno / experimental sound of the early 90's tracker scene mods. I saw that they used software synths to do the album, and I've got to tell you I love the sound.
If you haven't checked it out, I recommend that you give it a listen. Very good stuff.

Being an Erasure fan from back in the day... DAMN I'm old... I was really looking forward to this cd since Loveboat wasn't ever officially released here and the last thing we got from them was a covers cd that wasn't as bad as you'd think, but as a swansong to thier career, I felt a little let down by this one. I'm hoping it'll grow on me, but if this is going to be the last album from them I'd have rather they just did a live one recorded from the last tour.
