ESPN, MSNBC, Foxsports and a whole lot of other news outlets bought it and reported on it before they figured out it was a fraud. | JoshMann

Yes, and not only did it almost give me cardiac arrest, but I was about THAT close to posting the storylink here before it disappeared/was retracted.
EDIT: So I don't have to start another thread over this, there's a story in the Sentinel this morning that Charlotte traded Steve Smith and his giant salad fork to Miami for Malik Allen. If he has just a little game left in the tank, it's a good move that didn't really cost them anything.
