For just a few short years ago, you would have instead been watching yappy dogs parade around MSG instead. Frickin USA and the Westminster Dog Show. lol.

USA must get some high ass ratings for that dog show.

Unless my memory fails me, when contract talks between WWF & USA came up (& WWF was still riding the tail-end of the ratings boom), didnt Vince want them to stop pre-empting RAW for the dog show and USA refused?

The dog show never got higher ratings than wrestling. It just drew higher advertising revenue.

I actually liked the dog show, in the same weird way I like telethons.

Well, sporting in the same sense as say, pool or poker. It is a contest, after all.

McPaper gave the dog show two full pages yesterday. They'd certainly never do that for the rasslin.

The Dog Show exposes the USA Network to different demographic than their average viewers. It allows them to plug their shows and programming to new viewers that may actually come back. It's all about the money.

Last night the wife and I saw a commercial for the dog show. She said she wanted to watch it, but I expressed my early childhood "wrestling has been pre-empted" trauma. It runs quite deep.
