According to KSTP (kstp.com), Al Franken is now considering moving up his timetable for a Senate run.

Last year, Franken said he wanted to run for the Senate in 2008. But last night he told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that he is now considering his candidacy for next year.

Franken, a Minnesota native, plans to make an announcement live on his national radio show in Washington D.C. 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS will be in the studio with Franken for that announcement.

The announcement is expected to come near the end of the broadcast, which will be around 1:45 p.m.

All I can say is that this campaign has the potential to be one of the greatest ever for comedians.

Wow...and here I thought there couldn't be a worse candidate for the DFLers than Crazy Mark Dayton. Too bad Jesse Ventura's spokesperson has already denied HE will run.

And we all know that actually means he's thinking about it and will wait to see where the chips fall.

From the sounds of it, the DFL is going to waive the white flag, so they could wind up doing a lot worse than Franken if they don't plan on winning.

Tell you what - I'll stay out of Maryland politics, and you stop pretending to have the pulse of Minnesota.

Except that it's not just a Minnesota story, given that control of the Senate remains a major national party brass ring and the fact that who you guys elect to the Senate directly affects ME as a federal taxpayer. And that's not even counting the Franken factor...

I guess the "friendly" approach didn't work. Worry not; I've learned my lesson.

And THAT'S all irrelevant - none of this gives you an excuse to post ignorant, untruthful CRAP.

Let's return to your offending post:

From the sounds of it, the DFL is going to waive the white flag, so they could wind up doing a lot worse than Franken if they don't plan on winning.
Approximately ten SECONDS of research would provide you with a consensus opinion amongst people who aren't you (and therefore, know something about this story) that the Democrats are BETTER off with Dayton not running... which is something like the exact opposite of "[waving] the white flag," so perhaps you'll understand why I think you'd have been better out just not bothering to post in this thread at all... as well as instilling in me an admittedly unnatural hope that maybe - just MAYBE, you could use this example as an experience to recall in the WILDLY unlikely event that sometime in the future, another story may be posted on this board, the FACTS of which you just MIGHT not know enough about to give in to your compulsion to share with the world Grimis' Be All End All Opinion On Everything.

I realise that was a long sentence, so if you're not sure what I'm telling you, by all means feel free to email or PM me and I'll be happy to restate my opinion of you using more sentences and smaller words.

It's a moot point anyway because he just announced on Air America that he's going to honor the rest of his radio contract and not run until at least 2008.
