If Cena is looking to get some credibility (especially with the indie music world) it would be hard to think of a better way to do it than working with the Def Jux folks. I know RJD2 and Aesop Rock have both gotten a lot of love from the critics here recently. And yeah, he held his own. He's never going to make the world forget Eminem, but if he ever raps about something other than being a wrestler he might be able to make something that fits neatly in the current scene.

I agree, I'm very impressed with what little I've heard of Cena's actual rapping. I was looking forward to his full length album being released early this year so I could hear some more of him, but unfortunately it has been pushed back to May 10th:
"The new, official, and definite album release date is now MAY 10, 2005."
