EVIL DEAD 4! Sam Raimi directing! Late 2006 release date!!! Need I say more, ok! Bruce Campbell is returning of course but you probably guessed that. He well have the chainsaw hand still so it's not a rehash like ED2.
CASINO ROYALE is officially announced as the next James Bond film with Martin Campbell directing again... he directed GOLDENEYE.
Bryan Singer's SUPERMAN has an 'official' release date of June 30th 2006. In other SUPERMAN news, Eve Marie Saint will be playing Ma Kent... well, I'M shocked by this anyways.
There's a HALO movie in the works... whatever you do DO NOT TELL Uwe Boll... PLEASE!!!
Stellan Skarsgard will be playing Orlando Bloom's father in the PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN sequels... SEQUELS? Why yes! They'll be shot back to back like BACK TO THE FUTURE II and III. Filming begins next month... yeah, Depp's back as well.
For you girls out there, get ready to see Brad Pitt get killed! His next film will be THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD... the title IS subject to change though, but just on the title alone, I'd go see it.
UGH! In what could have been a cool live action adaptation, Julia Roberts has ruined the remake of CHARLOTTE'S WEB by giving her voice to a CGI rendered Charlotte. Others doing voicework for the film are John Cleese, Andre 3000 and Steve Buscemi.

Unless the pirates become pirate cowboys and kidnap Ted Danson's wife, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Worked for LOTR at least, but then again, IIRC, they were working from some pre-written source material. | TheMASKEDComputerGeek

That's slated for a late 2006 release date but it hasn't go anything like stars or a director nailed down yet. Raimi's said he's DEFINITELY going to make ED4 with Campbell at some point, but the actual timing of it is still up in the air. | Roy.

Well, he's said lately that him and Ted are writing it, and hope to start production at the end of this year.

Not sure if that means 2006 or not, but it seems like he's sort of committed. It's no longer a "dream project", it's actually pretty close to reality. | Quezzy

So, they are remaking Casino Royale???!!!
I loved Peter Sellers as the original Bond. Granted, Seller's turn in the first Casino Royale is not generally accepted as an official "Bond" movie, so maybe I don't mind this as much as Steve Martin playing Clouseau in the new Pink Panther movie. There have been many Bonds, but there will only be one Clouseau.

Sure, in a movie that probably proves Stilton's point.
Wait, who else has played Clouseau?
I had thought that there was a really early version of Casino Royale -- like, before any of the other Bond films and now forgotten -- but I can't find any evidence of this now (on IMDB). Does anyone else know anything about this? Am I goofy?
While I'm thinking about it -- does anyone know if the 1967 Casino Royale movie had anything at all to do with the original story other than its title? I mean, I know it's a spoof, but I don't know if it retains any of the plot at all.

Nope, that's definitely the remake. Brucey's commited to ED4, but won't appear in the new ED. He will have a say in who's cast as the lead, however, and has asked that none of the characters bear the Ash name so as to keep his legacy unique. Can't really blame him on that point. | Roy.

Goofy? Maybe. I've never met you. But you're correct about the early "Casino Royale". Jimmy Bond (played by Barry Nelson) was an American spy in the 1954 made for TV "Casino Royale". Supposedly a pilot episode (though I've also heard it was a BBC movie), it aired on "Climax!" (a weekly show) on October 21, 1954.

| #14 Posted on 7.2.05 1616.45 Reposted on: 7.2.12 1619.43 | The EVIL DEAD 4 stuff was from last Wednesdays' DAILY VARIETY. By friday, Bloody Disgusting and Cinescape had picked up on the story.
The 1967 CASINO ROYALE was VERY loosely based on the book, meaning about 3 characters and the name were used. While it sounds like a good idea to make it into a modern day Bond film, I can't see it switching over that easily.
As for Clouseau, don't forget the HORRIBLY one Roberto Benigni did... so, SO bad! | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
