Can they squeeze it out till SummerSlam? I have said that Batista has grabbed me and can go places...if HHHs ego allows. But if he wins at Rumble and loses to HHH at WM21 he is dead in the water IMO. HHH has lost before at WMania, so its not like his ego will get in the way there. And like Benoit it can carry Batista a long way for a long time. Benoit got more pops for winning at WMania than if he won at a normal PPV.Thats what WMania means to a lot of people and why I feel it is important to wait till then or even longer. I know a lot of people are HHHating what is HHHappening and some are ready to bail, its a fine line the WWE are treading with this and need to time it right.

Oh and the bestline I saw was'' the IWC hate when the WWE do changes too slow and hate it even more when they take too long''

It's a point well taken, but the money from Batista could very well be in the chase (at least at first, but not if they drag it out way too long), not in the winning of the title. It depends how they book it, of course. If they book it like they did WM19, then Batista would at that point either be dead or on life support. But if they do it so that Batista is within a hair of winning and it takes all of God's chicanerous forces combined to keep him from winning, setting up a rematch in mid-April (depending on the PPV scehedule this year), I don't think it hurts him. It's hard to say where the money from Batista comes from since this is his first major run.

The point of the Evolution angle taking too long, IMO, would be the RAW after the Royal Rumble. Any more than that and they're milking it a bit too far. I would just presume that the last straw takes place at the event and the KO LARIAT TO HUNTER takes place either at the Rumble or the next night on RAW.

There is that Cena/Orton trade rumor out there and after tonight's Raw, I'm giving it some more legimitacy. However, it would be a huge mistake to have Batista chase the title then lose at Mania and then have Cena get it. I love John, but Batista is right now the number one face on Raw or at least in the most realistic position to be the number one face. Last night, was probably the screeching halt of the Orton push, he may win the title from HHH after a botched Flair or Batista run in, but I think Vince sees the writing on the wall, Batista is it and Orton can still be valuable, but not right now. Orton/Cena at Mania would be interesting make HHH/Orton's match a loser leaves town match then have him go to Smackdown. Smackdown is in such a sorry state that even Orton couldn't hurt it.

The show was ok, I loved the HBK/Edge promo. It might prove Shawn got derailed by fans, but his shot at the crowd was awesome and I think helped get over the fact that the HBK he was saying he wasn't anymore is still buried in him. Edge/HBK has potiential to be a nice match for Mania. Benoit/Jericho for next week was probably the best news to come out of the show though. I just hope its for a RR spot. Have Jericho win, turn Benoit say he cost him his rematch, because he could win it again. It protects Benoit not to have him in the Rumble, have him go after Jericho after the Rumble and we have another great match for Mania. The nice thing about Raw is that there are still possiblities for some really good matches in the coming months, Smackdown doesn't have that right now.

Hey, didn't we already see the second coming with Jindrak on Smackdown? So wouldn't that make this the third coming of the Narcissist? And since we all know the third time is the charm, that makes Mark Masters a shoe in for Heavyweight Champion no later than 2006.

Go Masters.

Isn't his name "Chris Masters"? I thought that I read recently that WWE trademarked the name "Chris 'The Masterpiece' Masters"?

I don't think Jindrak ever had a personality in the WWE, unless it was on Velocity (which no one actually watches anyway, so does it really count?).

Jindrak was actually showing some charisma doing that gimmick on Velocity, and actually seemed to be getting over as a heel. They should have let it run a little longer, IMO.

They announced Jericho vs. Benoit tonight, so unless they book creatively, I don't see it happening. But who knows.

In regards to the spoilers below, the WWE has been promoting special matches at the end of TV taping. The one they are advertising seems to be the same one from last night when Raw went off the air. So, you lucky Canucks may get a double treat even though I've been to Toronto and was not really impressed with the arena and fans.

Here it goes...

1) HHH -> Guess if you have been asleep since October...nothing has changed. He is now the 10 time champion...try doing the Booker T thing with HHH. I'm already starting to get bored by HHH as champ. We get Batista and Orton in there and we get the Batista/Orton match. I really enjoyed Batista looking through HHH.

1A) Japan Raw/Smackdown -> I'm wondering, will we get "grainy vision" like what we had to go through in England?

2) Benjamin/Maven (RR qualifying) -> Guess Maven has not followed my advice from last week about an image change. Strange to see a drop kick to the "hands???", then the Exploder T-Bone Suplex for the win.

RR West Side Rumble Promo -> Still very funny

3) A look at the Hassan/Lawler match from NYR...what did they use as a bell, a champagne glass???

Hassan/Hurricane -> You turn that music on and you get the "instant booing" without a rise in the sound. It started out loud. My thought about Hurricane being in the match..."Is this the best you could do...Goodbye!!!"

4) WM Moment -> Pete Rose -> Enough said

I don't know why, but HHH/Flair calling Batista "Dave" just makes me laugh a little.

5) Edge/Rhyno (another RR qualifier) -> They had to put the Orange Bowl for Oklahoma reference in there. When I saw Edge's look after the match, I should have said "Uh, Edge, you won." Of course, he goes on blaming HBK for the loss at the EC, which lasts a while. I wonder what they do in this situation when a wrestler stays in the ring while the commercial is going on.

6) More fun with Edge -> He brings up the same stuff about TT, Battle Royal, Triple Threat, EC...like we heard it every week for the last few months. Finally HBK comes out. To the 4 or 5 who still remind HBK about the Montreal Screwjob, TAKE THAT!!!! HA!!!! Great ad-lib by HBK there. Of course to start the next couple of months of matches, we get a brew-ha-ha in which all the refs, agents, and retired wrestlers out, but they don't work as they go to the lobby. Hey, it's OK to trash the place, there are no hockey games going on for a while.

7) Simon Dean/Kane/Snitsky -> Didn't do much, except we happen to hear JR say that Simon Dean is whipping Kane at one point. Uh, JR, clean your glasses please. There is a big difference betweek Snitsky and Simon Dean. Expect Kane to go nuts next week in Toronto.

8) Jericho/Benoit vs Christian/Tomko -> During the match, my dad, who was falling asleep, happened to say "Noisy group, huh." Nice match, happened to see the miss by Tomko onto Christian from a mile away.

A small break for this as I start to get a little tired of seeing HHH and Flair, who my dad said last week is starting to look like Fred Blassie. He just needs a cane and he's ready to go.

Back to work...

9) Lita/Trish highlight...OUCH!!!

Lingerie Pillow Fight...At least we get to see a replay of any single male's dream (especially me), the chicken fight in the pool. When I meant a dream, I did not mean Rosey and Conway in there. Hey, Maria is a Chicago Area girl.
But when it starts, everything is lost as everyone who is in the ring at the time is involved. I GIVE UP...on this segment...NEXT!!! Get to some real stuff, like Batista and Orton walking.

10) Chris Masters...some new guy coming in...

Benoit/Jericho + Kane/Snitsky Next Week...Toronto will never be the same.

HHH/Flair enter ringside, who's entrance goes so slow that I took a trip to the bathroom and it was still going on when I returned.

Last Call...Orton/Batista -> We were talking about if Batista wins the title, will he be a face or a heel. I say that he should be a tweener and face all comers. If he happens to go face, make him an "Austin-type" face, in which he will break rules, but still get the respect he deserves. Now, I have to say that Flair is coming onto the ring apron for comedy relief because he always ends up being knocked down. This was a great match, and furthers the impending split between HHH and Batista, and gives Orton a chance at the title, probably at RR, speeding up the plan that I had earlier.

Nothing left to say, for this night.

Don't forget JBL vs. Kurt Angle vs. Big Show for the WWE title. Pretty sad they are wasting yet another PPV spot on Taker/Heidenreich.

What exactly did Michaels say to the fans that were chanting "you screwed Bret"? I've seen several references in this thread, but I missed the segment and I'm curious as to how he addressed them.

It was something to the effect of, "I see there are some Canadians down here. What are you doing in Florida? Go back to your own country." That's not word for word, but it was something like that.

Taker's never really fit all that well in the Rumble. If he were heel everyone could gang up on him, but you can do that very thing over and over with Batista, Big Show, Luther Reigns, Kane and Snitsky.

I don't see this casket match even touching the Taker vs Yoko and friends casket match from Rumble's past in terms of pure sports entertainment cheeseyness.

I don't know if the Orton Batista match from a month or so ago was any better than this one. It had the same problems as it also started with ten minutes of just boring meaningless work and enless Orton punches and then had a hot finishing section. Once Batista started stepping on Ortons neck this got watchable and entertaining. Don't remember what happened in second half of their last match but do remember same basic deal of unwatchable first half...interesting second.
