What a disappointing way to end the season. I feel for Kaeding. It's not his fault - we never should have been that far behind.

Congratulations, Jets.

No, it's not his fault. You can't pin a loss for a game forty-some guys played in on one player. He should have made that kick, though.

Dear Marty:

Take one shot with your f'ing tight end on play action when the Jets have everyone in the box waiting for Tomlinson. As always, you are the worst playoff coach in NFL history.

Aside from the Eagles (who I blindly follow), I really liked the Chargers this year, and was quite excited after the stupid roughing the passer penalty gave Brees and co a shot at the end zone.

Somebody needs to do the "Men in Black" mind erase on Marty. He says it (his playoff record) doesn't bug him, but he made decisions like he was scared yesterday.

Now, Chargers, re-sign (or franchise) Brees!

It was a great game, one of the more memorable ones in recent NFL playoff history: back-and-forth, coaches fighting or going on the field, etc. Wild stuff. As a die-hard Jets fan, my emotions ran the gamut in the 4th Quarter and OT from quiet confidence to dread to planning Eric Barton's funeral to relief to exhausted overwhelming joy.

I was shocked that they actually called the roughing the passer penalty, since it was ultimately inconsequential to the actual Jets defense of the final down (unlike, say, pass interference or defensive holding). But it was the right call...Barton clubbed Brees in the head with a pretty good shot.

Kaeding's FG was no gimme, either. In the rain, 40+ yards, OT, playoffs, rookie - that's a lot to ask for. I feel bad for the guy...perhaps if they set up better (not on the right hash mark) he might have had am easier shot.

Bottom line, all it does is set up Jets/Steelers next week. I'm not too optimistic there, but who knows what can happen when you PLAY to WIN THE GAME!

Looks like Brees wants to remain a Charger. But if he's franchised, they'd have to fork over a cool $9 mil for his services. I know he had a great season, but is he worth that? And do you let the heir apparent, Phillip Rivers, ride the bench for another year?

The Chargers are a playoff team with 2 1st round picks in the upcoming draft and, I believe, plenty of cap space. What a nice situation to be in.
