I excited to see Spacey in this role. And while I was hoping for Evangeline Lilly (Kate on the TV series Lost), Kate Bosworth seems like a pretty decent choice. At least it's not the once-rumored Beyonce Knowles.

Spacey'll work in the Luthor role, but since when were Clark 'n' Lois fresh-faced youngsters straight out of journalism school? It's like they're deliberately trying to play off of the Spider-Man franchise, which is so uber-dumb because the characters are worlds apart. Maguire and Dunst work as young Pete and young Mary because Spidey's always had a li'l bit of the teen angst thing going on. But Supes? Blecch. What a loada teeny-bopper crap. I don't know if it's been officially announced, but I keep hearing that X-Men's Shawn Ashmore (imdb.com) will play Olsen, and he's actually 2 days older than the new Superman Brandon Routh (imdb.com). In fact, Routh is about two-and-a-half years younger than Smallville's Tom Welling (imdb.com).
edit: Routh does seem young, but according to imdb.com, he'll be about the same age as Christopher Reeve (imdb.com) was when he first played Supes. Hmm.

The Singer-Spacey duo reunite. I'm suitably geeked for this now, especially since The Usual Suspects is my favorite movie of all time. And Bosworth has proven to be quite the capable actress, so this news is fine by me.
Plus, I haven't ever watched Smallville or Lois and Clark, so my last memory of Superman was watching Superman IV, and this HAS TO be better than that. | The Vile1

Seeing as to how this movie is supposed to be a sequel of sorts to Superman 2, I can't understand how Bosworth is going to play seasoned, veteran reporter Lois Lane. That Lois Lane should be in her later 20's early 30's. | Big Bad

Spacey as Luthor is utterly brilliant. I just kinda hope that in this new series of Superman films that we can get some villains besides Luthor and Zod. Why not a Superman movie with Brainiac, or Mxyzptlk, or the Parasite, or (my personal favourite) Doomsday?
Edited to add... Hey, my 3500th post. Where does the time go?
