It's an all new season with all those Zany characters doing what they do best, making life miserable for one another. This season looks like it's going to be a good one as well. Luke perry's character sure looked nasty. After watching the first episode I get the feeling that Syril is gonna end up screwing over his brother Ryan.
Those guys they let out of solitary sure looked like they've been spending way to much time there.

Luke Perry is on that show? Wasn't he on 90210? You know...I used to watch OZ, then I stopped. I just felt like that nun or whoever, you know...the woman would have gotten raped around 67 times. I mean you have these guys who are doing HARD time and she is the only woman they see? OK, maybe that was harsh, but you know what I mean. Anyway, when are they going to come out with OZ DVDs. That way I can catch up with the show.

Not only do you get to see Luke Perry, you get to see his ding-a-ling. It never amazes me the amount of semi-famous people that will show their wiener on that show.

Personally, I'm happy to see my favorite character Alvarez back.

As for Cyril turning on Ryan, haven't you watched the show enough to know that "false-foreshadowing" is one their favorite ways to screw with us? The odds of Cyril turning on Ryan (would that be a face or a heel turn I wonder?) I'd put at about 1 in 3.

What I never understood is how Jaz Hoyt can hang around with the Nazi's despite having a huge Jewish Star tattooed on his stomach.

Cyril is definetly a face, if not him then the doctor will turn on Ryan.

As for your man Alverez, well, I think it is only a matter of time before he finds himself back in solitary.

Is Schillinger more evil than Darth Vader?

I got some news about OZ: Also on the way is the complete first season of HBO's popular series Oz. On March 19th, you'll be able to pick up the first season boxed set for about $65 and you'll get a host of features including commentary, deleted scenes, featurettes, a music video, and more.

I'll have to watch it from the beginning, like The Sopranos. Luckily, the first season comes out on DVD sometime in March.

Now I missed out on the Soprano's and refuse to watch it out of stubborness of missing the first few seasons...I did see the first episode though.

I like OZ too. In many ways it is as good as the Soprano's. I just hope that the semi-driver doesn't get put in OZ but of course he will since the Marylad DOC is the stupidest orginazation of Earth. I mean putting Dr. Lane's rapist, keeping Alvarez in OZ after he cut that gaurds eyes out, leaving that undercover cop gone bad in OZ, etc. Well, I am begining to wonder if any characters will be left alive by the end of the show except Beecher.

Hey, I *know* the thread is weeks old, but I figured it'd be better to have a running one going than another thread about it.

Last night's ep was damn good.

Brass pocketing the 2 mil himself was very forseeable, but it still makes you hate the fucker. It got me wondering if they could prosecute him somehow... not for the fact that he won and stole it, but that he bought it for a prisoner. Seems like that sort of thing would be a touch illegal (for both guys?) Not like Rebadow has anything to lose, anyway.

Every time they tease something happening to Augustus, I worry that it's going to be *the* time, and I'll be pissed. There's something about being able to do the commentary pieces, AS someone in Oz, yet they remain entirely unaffected by what the character is doing. It's having that contrast that makes it special. He's also about the biggest face in Oz lately, with more sympathy being pushed his way as Beecher takes a backseat to play Torn Between Two Lovers.

Poet, who's spent most of the time going back and forth from tweener to cool heel gets to be an outright dick, and of course, looks like the wrong guy ends up fucked for what he did.

Morales, who's become something of a face seemingly out of nowhere, really added some depth by continuing to play on the bus crash, an occurance that's really only still affecting he and Augustus, I guess. The bait for his former brother-in-law was one I didn't really see coming, and who's to say who was telling the truth between he and Morales' sister, but it's not like it was going to make a difference when he was getting his head slammed down into a puddle of his own blood over and over. It really surprises me to see Father Ray do shit that he *must* know is going to result in somebody getting killed... I guess we're supposed to ask if he really cares or not.

Pancamo is just looking like a total bitch right now. Time-Warner punishment for being pals with Hogan. Zito's contribution to wrestling as being in the only scene ever where "jiggly, jiggly jew" was uttered must make him proud.

Finally, this Omar White / Kareem Said has taken some very interesting turns, and has resulted in some DAMN fine makeup work, as evident by last's night's shots of post-beatdown White. Said has gone through so many changes, his evolution as a chracter is just one of those things that brings people back each week. There's a new sadness there that points towards him being a part of something huge, come season finale time.

...but next week, the shit is ON as Oz hits high comedy. I *heart* when the between-scene commentaries have the characters totally breaking, well, character. The dancing scene with Vern and Beecher looks funny as hell.

The stuff I'm looking forward to is:

The Italians trying to hold on to power and respect after they lost the drug trade, the kitchen, and maybe their leader. I have a feeling "Frank the Fixer" is going to end up fucking some shit up.

Cyril and Jaz Hoyt together on death row. That should be interesting.

Alvarez and the dog. My call is it's going to end up killing Guerra which lands Alvarez back in solitary.

Jia Kenmin continuing to be ultra creepy. Although, unless he's still boys with the gangsters he'll probably end up getting killed by Ryan or maybe Alvarez pretty soon.

My problem is that there is somewhat of a lack of main-event heels on the show recently. I mean, you've Shillinger (more false face turns than HHH) and Robson, and that's it. Jia, Brass and Poet (although Poet I'd call a tweener) are strictly midcard. The leader of one of the other big groups needs to turn heel. Either Redding, Morales, Said, or Urbano. Or maybe start having Jia be a bigger character.

I hadn't really thought about it, but you're right, Moe. There are new faces moving into heeldom, but none really are main eventers. They're kinda riding solely on Vern and his boys right now.

I think the Said turn would be an interesting way to go, since they're building him up so much as becoming more and more of a common prisoner and less of a spiritual leader for the lost souls- he's become one himself. His is the character that I think they can do no wrong with- his face run with Beecher was very good stuff, and this decent into madness is equally entertaining.

I think that making Said a sympathetic character, even as a possible heel, is a testament to the great writing of the show. They've also done an amazing job with Ryan O'Reilly. For so long, you're never given an outright reason to like him, but you can't help it. With Cyril on death row and him lookng out for his mom, he's become a huge face and looks to be staying that way unless he really does decide it's best to let Cyril die.

The dog thing is interesting, as it must have been put in place for a reason. Hard to tell where that's going. While it seems weird, it's much less annoying and gimmicky than last season's "speed up the aging process pill" shit.

There might only be Shillinger as a main event heel, but there really aren't any main event faces other than Beecher and Cyril. The rest toe the line and switch sides from week to week.

It's only a matter of time until there is a main event death though...everyone killed thus far are probably at the jobber level.

I'm not real big on the dog storyline right now though.

I don't know if anybody CAN die.

When a smarmy little fuck can survive being stabbed in the chest with a big ass crucifix, I lose hope in the world.

Yeah, Supreme Allah going down kinda sucked. He was on his way to heel stardom.
It would be him or that former prision guard for biggest death since Alebisee.

I think since Fontana likes using guest stars...Rick Fox, Method Man, Luke Perry...I think it's high time Undertaker comes rollin' in for a few episodes. Now seeing him play a big bad biker motherfucker next to average sized people would be beautiful thing.

Yeah no shit I was shocked to see that creepy guy alive. With Hoyt on death row and Abidesse dead they are running out of monster heels. Sure Schinlinger bad but they need a pure ass kicker klller in the show.
I think they are going to have another killing spree. All the gang leaders are stable for OZ at least. I think they should free Hoyt and make the new #2 Sicilian in charge. Pancommo is tough but not ruthless enough.

I don't think the Italians are ever going to turn heel. Have they ever really been the bad guys?

My vote for next "Monster Heel" would have to be Morales. He can be pretty damn creepy when he wants to be also.

Jia would be cool as a monster heel also. Not in the "gang leader" kind of way, more in the way O'Reilly used to be.

Morales just doesn't do it for me. I wouldn't mind seeing him get whacked.

As far as monster heels go, Schillinger is everything that is bad. He's had his brushes with the good, but nothing, NOTHING can make him change his evil ways.

I wouldn't mind seeing O'Reily snap and go on a spree, but would he still be a face? I think he's pretty much the SCSA of OZ.

As for Jia, he's gonna be a dead man just like the Russian last season.

Schillinger is a great heel but he works through others. What they need is more really scary killers. All the truly psycho fucks like Hernandez and Annabessie are dead.
I don't think the Scicillians will ever be heels. As odd as it is the mobsters have the most in common with the average viewers. Sure they are gready but their reason are understandable. I mean why does the Nazis do the things they do? Killing Beecher's son and sending him his hand is hard to relate too.
O'Reily would make a great heel but he is SCSA and is too cool right now. I mean tricking one enemy to kill another is very smart. If Cyril dies then who knows then.
