With the elevation of Batista and to some extent Edge, the main event scene looks very intriguing. The Orton/HHH WM main event isn't set in stone just yet - at least not in my eyes. So who walks out of the E/C as the new champion?

EDGE - I'd love to see him as the new champ. He could benefit from holding the title and getting that needed elevation in order to be taken seriously, and they're not letting up on his obsession with the world title. All the same, he's not likely to win and a run-in with HBK will likely lead to his elimination.

JERICHO - The least likely to have gold around his waist come Sunday night's conclusion. He's sorta lost in the shuffle right now and not headed anywhere interesting.

HHH - The odds-on favorite to win, but why bother with all of this if HHH winning is the payoff? He didn't actually lose the title (read: get pinned or forced to submit) this time around, yet he stands to add another World Title notch on his resume? It certainly makes his resume less impressive.

ORTON - The worst option here. Maybe it's just me, but his mic skills are BRUTAL as a face. His promos are painful to listen to, especially tonight. He doesn't say much at all, but every word is spelled out as if we're too slow to keep up with him...

BATISTA - Not now. HHH gets jealous on Sunday night and is responsible for him being eliminated from the Chamber.

My pick: HHH

My hope: Edge

I'm right there with you on Edge winning the title. Mainly because I want to see a fresh face win the belt and run with it for a while. Plus if Edge wins that opens up a continuation of his feud with Benoit and maybe a blow-off match at the Royal Rumble or somewhere else.

EDIT:

On second thought, a better scenario would be Edge winning the title, facing Shawn Michaels at the Royal Rumble and beating him. Then you get Edge vs. Benoit for the world heavyweight title at Wrestlemania. Or is Batista vs. HHH for the world title going to be RAW's main event?

Just another thought, chill, that you also forgot about Benoit being in the match as well, or at least forgot to add a detail about him in too.

However, both he and Jericho are just lost in the shuffle (they give Orton that promo, yet Jericho doesn't even add any words the last few weeks?), and, unless Edge pulls out a miracle, the title will go the way of one of the Evolutionaries, former or otherwise.

WM21 will be one heck of an Evolution love-fest, either way.

*ahem* I'm hoping for Edge to win too, though that's most likely not going to happen, especially with HBK in there to play ref.

I actually bet either Benoit or Jericho will be the first one eliminated on Sunday night.
