| #1 Posted on 3.1.05 1534.03 Reposted on: 3.1.12 1534.31 | I saw this on the torch and not that I'm looking to start one but I was surprised that there hasn't been a mile long thread on it yet:
"Brock Lesnar has been calling Vince McMahon's office regularly looking for work. As of last word, he hadn't gotten past McMahon's assistant, Beth. WWE's attitude right now is that Brock left on reasonable good terms given the circumstances, but then blew it with negative comments about wrestling since, and then lost leverage since he'll forever be known as an NFL washout rather than a former NCAA wrestling champion at the top of his resume. All sources say Brock will have to show a remarkable change in attitude and accept a full time schedule before he'll be welcomed back, and when he's brought back he'll have to "pay his dues" from scratch all over again. The rap on him is that when he left he wasn't exactly selling out arenas as champion, so there's no reason to bend over backwards for his demands."
When Brock made his departure last year, I can't say I was thrilled since I really enjoyed his work. Nonetheless, I can't deny that I was in attendance at WMXX and heartily booing his and Goldberg's awful match. I just find it curious that Vince won't even take Brock's call and try to hash out a deal, even if he low balls him on it. Hey, maybe Brock is just calling to wish him Happy Holidays. Aw Vince, be a mensch and pick up the phone. Smackdown does need some star power and if Brock is that desperate to come back, why not take him on again? It'd be easy to book him as a heel since he can blame the fans or Eddie Guerrero for messing with his head and chasing him off to fail at football, and the fans would be more than happy to boo.

And I believe he will come back when Vince realizes he could have a main-event experienced hoss right now instead of hoping to cultivate Tomko, Morgan, Heidenreich and others.

Brock must have a head inflated bigger than his ears, because he had to know at some point he would be coming back.
There's no doubt in my mind he'll be back in the WWE before the year ends, but why not make him sweat it out a bit and develop a nice relationship with Vince's answering machine before that happens?

They could put a mask on him and call him The Masked Enforcer. He could terrorize everyone then have a mask vs mask match with Ray Myserio and have the whole Smackdown roster help Ray to win.Once he's unmasked he'll get mad and powerbomb Bob Holly breaking his neck forcing him to retire. Then he'll become a face big time.

From stories told, people working at OVW were baffled that WWE decided to pick up the option to have Lesnar go up in the first place, as he was known for burning bridges even while working in OVW.
I think it would be very funny to see him have to work he way back through OVW. I suspect we would see him being jobbed to the cruiserweights, a couple of the women, and maybe even a manager or two before being allowed to work his way up again. He was that unliked, from what I understand. | chill

| #6 Posted on 3.1.05 1609.33 Reposted on: 3.1.12 1609.57 | It wouldn't be hard to explain Lesnar leaving for football. He could just say that he made more money in his first year than any other wrestler before him - so much money that he literally owned his own airplane and (list off whatever else he bought). He was able to do what nobody in the crowd could ever dream of doing - work for one year and then go do whatever he wanted. Like play football for fun. And he got more media attention than any NFL player during training camp. The NFL was scared of him (which I actually agree with) and what he might do to their players, so he chose to do what he loves to do: go where he can beat the CRAP out of whoever he wants. And after the fans, the wrestlers backstage, and even the WWE front office turned their backs on him... he's going to make them regret they ever dragged his name through the mud.
Enter babyface to correct Lesnar on how things really are, and BAM! You've got your logical explanation. There's a thousand of these. Whatever happened to re-signing a guy for less money simply because it's good business? For once, someone who WWE built up to be the greatest thing since Hulk Hogan turned around and made them look bad (to an extent), and now they're understandably bitter.
I'm just hoping they can fast-forward past the immature pouting and work out the issues between both sides. I want Lesnar in the Rumble and at the next Wrestlemania. | CRZ

| #8 Posted on 3.1.05 1622.38 Reposted on: 3.1.12 1623.21 | Look at the bankable stars on the WWE rosters:
RAW Main Event: Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Edge, Kane, Randy Orton, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Triple H Upper Midcard: Shelton Benjamin, Eugene, Batista, Christian, Gene Snitsky, Matt Hardy, Maven* Notes: Benoit, Jericho, Kane, Orton, HBK & HHH are treated as big-name talents. Rock & Flair, when wrestling regularly, are also given this treament. The upper midcarders have wrestled in the main event on occasion, but not with regularity. And they want us to buy Maven as a big name guy...
SMACKDOWN Main Event: JBL, Big Show, Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Undertaker Upper Midcard: John Cena, Rob Van Dam, Rey Mysterio, Booker T Notes: JBL, the Show, Eddie & Angle have all won a big title. Cena has the stigma of the secondary title, so he's down in the second tier until he loses it. And RVD, Mysterio & Booker T never win the big one.
Smackdown needs another legit main event guy. Putting Lesnar on RAW or jobbing him out on Smackdown wouldn't be smart, especially with business down. | The Goon
