The cold's fine - it's the darkness I hate. It gets dark at about 4:30 here now. That means (for my personal schedule) that I spend more time awake during darkness hours than daylight hours. It starts to get to me.

Suprised not to see any Northeast Ohioans respond to this one...
Wednesday, Dec. 22nd we started getting a giant snowstorm coming up I-71. It dumped a goodly pile of snow on Cleveland. Overnight, it warmed up and turned to rain. This successfully plugged up most of the city drainage systems with slush and ice, leading to amazing stretches of standing water. I-90 along eastern Cleveland was impassable, and I gave up getting to work after going through 5 standing water areas, 2 of them being on I-480. My wife and I decided to get to our relatives while we could, 'cause then it got cold again and turned back to snow. Luckily, the main roads were pretty clear and we got down to Mansfield okay. Unfortunately, all of Mansfield is hilly, and the temperatures plummeted to zero. As a result, we got iced in to the in-laws until Monday afternoon.
So, Monday we headed back in to Cleveland and I got to clean out the additional snowfall that had accumulated. There was so much crap at the end of our driveway I was running out of treelawn space to pile it. I ended up with a giant frozen pile of snow on either side of the driveway end, effectively blocking about 1/3 of my driveway. OH SO MUCH FUN to get in and out of the place.
Finally, this past week got up into the 50's and it all melted away. Now the weather forecast is calling for rain tonight turning into snow. Yip-pee.
