I got a video mixer I've been wanting from my brother, which is pretty sweet considering I only got him a $100 gift card for Borders.

I got a card from my dad that I didn't even bother opening due to issues I have with him screwing me out of my moms house, but I won't get into all that crap.

Lastly, and this one is kinda scarry actually, I got a veiled (I think...) marriage preposal that sorta freaked me out. I haven't given an answer yet, due to her being at her parents for another next week, but I'm not sure I'm ready for THAT again, but on the other hand, I think this one might work out this time. I know it's only been, what, eight months or so since I met Serena, but I fell better around her then I did with the first wife and she hasn't been annoying to live with.

My main thing is that I don't wanna get burned again, you know, but I don't want to ruin a good thing either by saying no... shit, life choices suck.

Just remember, saying you'll get married and actually getting married can have a LONG time in between them if you play your cards right. A long engagement can be a good way to discern if it's really a good idea.

Santa made the trip to my house this year and got me a new leather jacket, as my old one has been ashy and ragged-looking for years now, as well as the Nirvana box-set, which was KILLING ME not to buy for the last month or two. Luckily, Santa made good on his promise and delivered it to me, free of charge. I love that jolly ol' bastard!

Santa gave my daughter everything she wanted! In non-Santa money it may have cost a normal daddy more than $600 for all the gifts, thankfully there is a Santa!

It is tough with my little girl. Her mom is a Jehovah witness, which causes every holiday (even memorial day) to be a bigger holiday celebration than it normally would. The big ones like Christmas, Halloween, and her birthday causes me a big financial burden that becomes worth it every time she smiles.

As for me, Santa filed my stocking with some left over crap my mom left (that I never wanted) on her last visit, and after my daughter's mom picked her up, ol' Santa went to the store got me a 12 pack of Bud Light and good night of drunken sleep. Oh yea, I got a $5.50 DVD at target, What About Bob, great movie!

Man I wish I had a ho,ho,ho. (please no Brokenwings!!)

I've been declaring victory in other Chrismahanukwanzakah discussions due to my haul.

U2 edition iPod, America (the Book), American Psycho (book), Office Space, Meeting People is Easy, Citizen Kane (all on DVD), Lucky You (pour homme), shampoo, $100 cash money, Target gift card...

I think this is the year people are telling me I stink and should wash my hair. Although I bought both my girlfriend and Dad appropriate scents (she actually got Lucky You for women, for extra irony)...

Not for nothing, brother, as I'm no expert on the wiles and begiles of the human heart, but if she doesn't understand where you're coming from on all of this, it probably wasn't meant to be.

Otherwise, I got two pairs of jeans, a spankin' new flannel, a nice sweater, and a tie-dye that all fit (I double dare any one of you to find stuff you like in a 3XL or higher). I also got the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Vol. 1 DVD, and best of all, a 4 pack of Guiness Draft (cans) along with a set of each color of Play-Doh, including black. Black Play-Doh is the coolest name for a band EVER. Not quite the holiday 5-pack, but brilliant nonetheless.

Thanks to me living away from most of my relatives, everything got here either a week early or is still pending, but this is the majority of the list of stuff.

$100 Gift Card, Best Buy, which is most likely going to the stereo/accessories I want and another combined $150 at Wal-Mart, which I'm going to try to not spend on gas and groceries. Ideally it's going to the PC I've been looking at.

CD/DVD/PS2 Bounty: World Championship Poker, which I've gotten hooked on in record time, BNL: Barenaked For The Holidays (just for the version of "Do They Know It's Xmas?" it's worth the time) Tom Waits: Real Gone, Bull Durham, Life of Brian, Dogma SE, Boogie Nights SE, Hard Knocks: The Chris Benoit Story and The Last Boy Scout---FUCK YEEEEEEEEAH on the last one

Books: "Fire At Eden's Gate" (the bio of former Oregon Governor Tom McCall that my GF wanted me to read), "Skinny Dip", by Carl Hiassen and "Cane Mutiny" by Bruce Feldman.

Two things, first, is this the girl you met via an online deal some times back? Or am I hallucinating about that?

Santa stopped by at three places, me and the wife's place which saw Buffy Season 7, Spiderman 2 and Dennis Leary Stand up on DVD, probably the best of the three. My parents got me DS9 season 4 only three more to complete the set, West Wing Season 1, a new suit and CD-RW. My wife's family had a glass chess set, poker set and a gift certificate to Olive Garden there. Not a bad year, last year or two years ago. Santa was very good. Santa forgot to bring the TV, computer and dresser the wife and I have asked for, though. Oh well thats what after the holiday sales are for.

So far:
* $50 Bertucci's gift card (gourmet pizza chain)
* $50 Best Buy gift card (either games or the Bottom boxed set)
* $25 Olive Garden gift card (much better Italian places around, but it'll do)
* framed picture of my favorite niece, very nice
* Buffett CD (one I had on tape, but the tape's worn out)
* $50 Wawa gift card from the company raffle (best. convenience. store. ever)
* a wind-up flashlight thingy that doesn't need batteries
* new pair of khakis (which I hope fit, given recent weight loss)
* more shopping to come.

My Ben Roethlisberger jersey, new sweet Steelers Hat from Grandma, and Steelers jacket from wife and sons made this a black and gold Christmas.

The highlight though was my soon to be three year old getting his own Steelers youth uniform set with shoulder pads and helmet. Then he promptly hyperventilated as he opened that confounded Whac-A-Mole game that we were smart enough to purchase in November before it became insanely hard to find. He also thoroughly enjoyed the SpiderMan and Friends Play Set which took the wife and I till 1:30 in the morning to put together. Now I know why when I was a kid sometimes I would find GI Joe toys half way put together on Christmas morning. Then I would look over at the couch where my Dad would be asleep with the instructions over his face. Everytime of course he would explain Santa just drops of the boxes and the parents have to assemble them. When my oldest was getting ready for his first Christmas (and sadly my Dad's last) Dad told me I needed to remember three little words "Some Assembly Required" and then he laughed meniacally as he walked off.

*Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 1 on DVD
*Target Gift Card (used for cologne, new black socks, and the Franz Ferdinand CD)
*Borders Gift Card (used for The Killers' album and Shortcuts by Raymond Carver)
*An Old 97's T-Shirt
*Two sweaters, one pair of jeans, one new pair black pants (all very necessary, but not very fun)

Santa was good to me this year, although I doubt he thought I'd use anything he gave me to buy a CD by a band called "The Killers" (thanks for the reccommednation, Feely!)

150 dollars from Dad
100 or so dollars in gift cards or cash from my many aunts
GTA:SA, Snakeeater, EA Baseball, a few shirts and pants from mom and sis.
Cold shoulder from my girl
Bottle of Jack and George from my uncle
A carton of smokes from my friend
A lump of coal from Santa...somethings never change

but Overall a nice christmas. Now its off to top the recklessness and total disregard of the liver displayed last new year.

The coolest gifts I got were from my girlfriend:

-A new mattress pad
-A set of 300 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets.

It was probably her (not so) subtle way of saying my bed is uncomfortable but the end result is she now wants to spend more time there so what do I care!

(also mom got me the Frank Sinatra Treasures book I had been eyeing for some time)

Yes it is, we've been together for eight months now and she's been living with me for almost half of that.

This would be my second marriage, so the latter falls on deaf ears for me...

Whoever it was that found WHAT ABOUT BOB? on DVD for $5.50... I envy you, I paid $20 for it.

THE LAST BOY SCOUT was the last good movie Bruce Willis did... yeah, I know he was in UNBREAKABLE and SIXTH SENSE, and I'm sticking with my comment...

I danced on Christmas morning when I opened up a box containing a 20GB IPOD from my dad. I shrieked in pure joy like a little girl....in front of my girlfriend, no less. Yeah, she knew i'd be cuddling with the IPOD more than her that day. (j/k)

Other awesome gifts included the Franz Ferdinand 2-disc special edition set, Seasons 1 & 2 of South Park, a Eugene action figure, and a 2005 KROQ calendar (I like to keep a calendar up in my room all the time). Those were just gifts from my one sister and brother-in-law! I also got two sweaters from my other sister and brother-in-law, and a sweater and 2-disc mix cd set from my girlfriend, not to mention spending all my christmas day with her (met in the same way Cerebus met his girlfriend of 8 months. hah. 4 1/2 months here for us). I also got some movie passes, money, and a $50 Best Buy giftcard from various relatives and friends (the giftcard will probably be used to by the ECW dvd and maybe Napoleon Dynamite).

Though I guess i'm really starting to mature. This year, I wasn't as excited about receiving gifts (even though I totally flipped out after getting them), but was looking forward more to people opening my gifts. I guess I was just in the giving spirit this year, and that's all I could think about leading up to Christmas day.

Among my finds under the tree:

-Seinfeld Seasons 1&2 DVD
-Reno 911, Season 1 DVD
-box of white fudge oreo cookies(which i get every year and LOVE)
-a new CD player
-a new football
-an auto safey kit
-pair of jeans and a nice short-sleeved shirt
-$25 gift card (to which I will use tomorrow on the "Anchorman" DVD
-2005 Guiness Book of World Records
-2005 "365 Stupidest Things Ever Said" desk calendar (which i get every year)

I've come to realize that there are several things I ask for each year, which doesn't lead to many surprises on Christmas Day.
