Is it just me, or did Hogan's gear for Smackdown look Godawful? I can't even put my finger on what it was, but the entire thing was jsut way too over the top, kitschy and repulsively ugly.

It did look goofy perhaps, but I about wet my pants seeing the old Red and Yellow one more time. If he continues with this it may get old, but at least for one night I seriously marked out. This coming from someone who despised the whole Hulkamania thing when it was in it's prime. Every time he wrestled I wanted to see Hogan get his rear end handed to him. Tonight, I wanted to see him give HHH the big boot and drop him on his behind.

What are you expecting him to wear, Rock-sized tights that shows a little of The People's butt cheeks? Hogan might also have cellulose on his thighs.

But his endition of a cross between Jesse Ventura and Randy Savage does look funny.

Gimmick mixing. It's does look weird seeing The Real Hollywood American Hulk Hogan.

Could you imagine if like... HHH mixed his gimmicks like that? I guess he'd do a curtsey on the ring apron after he spits the water.

I think the WWF is doing a much better job of bringing back the yellow and red than WCW did...just let Hogan wear the long pants not trunks

Or if William Regal walked to the ring wearing the British blue blood robe and a hard hat.

Yeah, Hogan needs to get rid of the black beard-- and maybe the red and yellow feather boas-- in order to look... I dunno... more normal.

The black beard along with the red and yellow colors of Hulkamania is really what kind of sticks out as being God-awful ugly... at least to me.

The weird thing for me is that I did NOT mark out to see the red and yellow. One, the whole surprise was blown in the Smackdown Opening Montage, when you could clearly see the Hogan flashes with a yellow 'do rag. Secondly, he walked out to "Voodoo Chile"...it just didn't fit. "Real American" is the signature song of the red and yellow. Not to mention he still had the black-marker beard going. Thirdly, he's only been back in the WWF for a couple months. In my mark vision, returning to the classic threads would be akin to Mick Foley ditching Mankind in favor of turning things up a notch and bringing back Cactus Jack. Fourthly, as somone else mentioned...the tie-dye looked ridiculous.

Not for this run.

For this run, the signature song is "Blame Canada."

PS: And for the New Yorkers in the crowd, as you picture in your mind Hogan's getup last night, I have one word for you:

Wigstock.

(and you know what THAT means)

The red and yellow does suck copious amounts of ass. Do we really need to be reminded that Hogan was in the WWF back in 1990?

If Hogan shaved the black part of his beard then the Joker creases on his face would be even more evident. Maybe he can just dye it white regularly like he does his mustache.

The red and yellow "Hollywood" was just putting out WAY too much of a Fire Island, flamboyant vibe for me. I mean, JEEZ. When he walked that aisle, I wasn't sure if he was gonna challenge Triple H or kiss him. THe "Hollywood" look just ain't right with red and yellow!

You guys criticize Hulk for what he wears and how he looks, but at the same time your probably sitting there in your best pair of jogging pants,a stone cold university t-shirt, and sport a chin beard that resembles a fist full of pubes.

We're not performing in front of millions on a weekly basis competing for a world title, are we?

I can't disagree with the "Real American Hero" thing. I would have loved to have heard that again also, and I think it would have hyped it up a little bit. Remember a few years ago when, every once in a while, someone would come out to Real American Hero? The place went nuts.

I paid no attention to the Smackdown! opening, so I didn't see him sporting the red and yellow. Since it is part of the opening montage, does this mean it is here to stay?

After reading CRZ's recap, it all makes sense. This return to Red & Yellow is simply to make the folks at ShopZone some Fabulous Moola. Once these color's wear out, Hogan will turn to something else, to sell more merchandise. If it gets fans back on the Hulkamania train, then that is simply a bonus for the bookers trying to get him over as a face.

Speak for yourself.

Ok, actually, I'm not either. I just like to disagree.

And I think that Hogan in the Red and Yellow (not Yello like whoever started this thread, no matter how much of a Coca-Cola fan you are) would have been fine, but not tie-dyed red and yellow. Have him wear whatever he used to wear (I don't know what it is, because I was 7 in 1990.)

Eh, I preferred the tie-dye pants to the li'l trunks he USED to wear. Personally, I'd have just stuck him in the black 'n' white until his pop died, then break out the red and yellow when times got really desperate. I mean, can you imagine Taker coming out wearing his "long black coat and funny hat" combo? Paul Bearer's not around-WHO WHOULD HOLD HIS GLOVES?!
