I noticed there are quite a few wrestling fans on this board that are also 24 fans. (Or a lot of 24 fans that also like wrestling) With FOX moving 24 to Mondays at 9:00 next month, this is a serious challange to my loyal Raw viewing. With a new episode supposedly every week from Jan-May, I can't see missing any action during that timeframe.
I can't imagine that I'm alone in this dilemma and I'm wondering if Raw will take a big hit in viewers once 24 starts up in January. I know that WWE traditionally loses viewers to MNF in the Fall, but I think that 24 would maintain a more solid "wrestling fan" viewership, due to its serial nature. This could spell some trouble for Vince, especially leading up to Mania.
Personally, I'll probably be more satisfied with 24 on a weekly basis, so Raw will likely get the Tape/Ignore/Recap treatment. Promote this thread! | | The Vile1

| #2 Posted on 7.12.04 1427.30 Reposted on: 7.12.11 1429.01 | I'm upset about it. But the advantage we have is that RAW has been pretty sub-par and skippable lately. It might be a dilemna for me b/c I don't have TiVo or anything, and I have an evening class the night they come on, so I can only tape one show, instead of just taping one and watching the other one. You do get the feeling that 24 and MNR have much of the same audience, and putting them against each other is a bad idea. | Tenken347

For one, I'm really not sold on the way they're replacing the supporting cast for the next season. After three years, I've gotten pretty attached to Tony and Palmer, so not having them around makes a big difference. For another, RAW is live. It's not a big deal, but if 24 is already taped, in a sense, it won't kill me to record it and watch it on Tuesdays like I'm used to. | Torchslasher

| #4 Posted on 7.12.04 1924.38 Reposted on: 7.12.11 1929.02 | This is such bad news for me. I work overnights and the schedule differs each week, so I don't always even have a choice between which show to watch and which to tape. Plus, Raw is only on one time a week with no rerun showings, and last I knew FX had stopped putting on 24 rerun airings.
With the proliferation of Raw recaps and general simple to follow storylines, I would probably feel better missing Raw and taping 24. 24 takes so much more concentration to follow from week to week for me.
And so, here's a little F--- you to Fox for switching the night of 24. | TheMASKEDComputerGeek

I will give this season a chance for a couple episodes, but if it becomes the plot hole paradise that it was last year, then I'll go right back to RAW. | thecubsfan

IRONING!
I've kinda spent the time since this was announced in May telling myself that I'm out the RAW door in the new year If Things Don't Get Better. But...
It's abusive relationship, and I just don't know if I'll be able to walk away till I do.
I think it'll be hard to figure out any numerical rating impact 24 itself will have, because by the time it's airing regularly, MNF will be off the air and that'll affect it the other way. I think the comparison's close, though - or at least WWE would like you to consider it in the same action/adventure/suspense genre as 24, and much like RAW, we'd like 24 to start planning long term better. | #8 Posted on 7.12.04 2305.31 Reposted on: 7.12.11 2305.51 | I've heard 24 is a VERY good series and didn't get to watch it from the beginning. So, I'll grab it on the DVD's if want to watch was cool, I figure it will affect Raw for the first few weeks then back off. Plus it depends on if it's a new episode. Yet, like I tell my girlfriend, there isn't re-runs of Raw. Except for that short time back on when it replayed on Thursday Nights on the USA channel. Anyways, out. | BigSteve

| #9 Posted on 8.12.04 2042.22 Reposted on: 8.12.11 2042.48 | I seriously advise taping Raw. It's much better when you control which of the crap that you watch and which of it you just skip altogether. And are we sure that this whole "MNF/24 Ratings effect" isn't just something that someone in WWE or somewhere thought up and people began toa ccept. It's done a 3.9 for the past four weeks which is just about better than anything it has done in 2004 as a whole. I'm not buying it (unless I'm wrong about something.) 24 does just drop plots don't they? (I liked how Jack was a herion addict at the begining of the day, but seemed to magically have his habit kicked by the end of the day.) But the plots that they stick with are much better than the ones WWE uses.
