Kevin Nash will be out of the ring for several months after undergoing surgery earlier today for a torn bicep.

While the injury itself isn't very funny (because it's not SERIOUS and there is the chance he'll return), that sentence just makes me smile for some reason. So it's NOW that he'll be "out of the ring for several months". Has he gotten hurt SOMEHOW since signing with the WWF? Otherwise, why didn't he have this done while he was sitting at home collecting paychecks?

He appeared to injure the arm during the handicap match the NWO had with Rocky and Hogan. After the NWO "won" due to Kane run-in, Hall and Syxx celebrated on the ramp, but Nash kept walking, clutching his arm.
CZim missed it in the recap, but it happened. Yep.

Didn't JR say in his most recent Report that it wasn't a torn bicep but a deep bruise.
Then again he also stated that Nash would WORK through the injury...So we know he wasn't telling the truth already.

I don't wanna trash him too much, as I don't know how painful a torn bicep is, but didn't Regal work through something similar a short while ago? I guess there are variations (both in the injury and your status in the WWF?)

I wonder though how important this is for what he does, stand outside the ring and once in a while deliver a knee or elbow. Uhoh..he might not be able to do half his moveset!

Hopefully he is well enough to do an injury angle atleast to explain his absence. I don't know, if he supposedly could work through it, but is tired of jobbing this is a convenient way out.

Exactly. Kane hit Nash w/ the Big Boot off the ropes, & Nash went down. After he hit the ground, you could see him grab & hold his arm. When Hall & X-Pac were on the ramp, Nash just kept walking to the back, clutching his arm the entire way

FYI: "Torn bicep" is a standard juicer injury.

It occurs because muscle gets stretched over bone like saran wrap over a cinder block. Before the advent of steroids and their dietary supplement cousins, athletes never suffered from the now-commonplace "torn bicep".

Not to be argumentative, but wouldn't it be more realistic to say that athletes RARELY suffered from torn biceps before steroids and their ilk became common? I can see how it could happen to an "unjuiced" guy like Regal, for example.

Just because Regal isn't Triple H/Billy Graham sized doesn't mean he's not on the gas.
I can't really think of anyone on the WWF roster not on some kind of supplement...maybe Shane Helms. Even Kidman is jakked to the gills now...

You can't work through a torn bicep, Regal did not suffer one a while back. I believe he pulled a muscle, but that of course is a whole different ballgame. A torn bicep was what put Tazz out for three months in 2000.

And it doesn't mean he IS on the gas either, does it? Again, I have to take issue with these blanket statements being made. What makes you think he's on the juice? I'm not saying he is or isn't, I'm just curious how you can be so certian. Also, I apoligize for saying Regal suffered a torn bicep. Apparently I was mistaken. Thank you for correcting me.

Well, Nash won't work matches with this injury, but I'd be surprised if they took him off TV. It's not like he's done anything significant in the two months he's been here... hell, he didn't even work a match at Wrestlemania. Plus, he only has to tape one show now.

Nash probably won't disappear from our TVs despite the injury... he'll just be a general annoyance in the pending X-Pac/Hall v. Kane/Bradshaw until he gets healthy.

Yeah, my guess is he will continue to play the role he does now. He will accompany the other two to the ring, provide a little cheating help here and there (if he is able, I don't know how major the limitations from a torn bicep are) and just be the general "enforcer."
