There are two types of hockey fan in my circle of friends: There are those that can't live without hockey, and are depressed about this entire thing; and there are those who don't care anymore. :-)

Myself, I'm looking forward to curling on TV :-D

I've got four minor-league teams playing within a 75-mile radius of my house. NHL what?

Well, the Phantoms just blew their winning streak. So...there!

They still haven't met since September 9. There's your problem...

Screw 'em.

I don't follow hockey, but I bet this would be huge to get interest back in the game.

Have the league champs of the various remaining hockey leagues fight it out in a tournament for the Stanly cup.

Would it happen? Never.

Would it be awesome? Totally.

Is it safe to say that there are LOTS of Canadians (and probably others) that are on like their fifth season of NHL '05? I'm almost up to Christmas with my Avalanche franchise...noteworthy so far because of a 16-game unbeaten run to start the season (including simming about 10 of those games), injuries to Forsberg and Sakic (damn simming) that led to a trade for Steve Rucchin, and that when I played Washington on 12/16, their record was 0-23-6-2.

Meanwhile, the Moose Jaw Warriors are an outstanding 1-21-5-1, and HEY, the Seattle Thunderbirds are in first place!

So... what? I gave up my Phantoms ticket plan a year and a half ago when I got sick of Bob Clarke's mismanagement. My Reading Royals have their own nine-game winning streak going on...

(Tough division, though. 9-5-0 and they're in SIXTH place.)

I actually own a Hershey Bears jersey now. It's nice, but I half expected it to singe my flesh after years of Phantoms fandom.

Dude how could you? The Bears are evil. I have been a Phantoms fan ever since they won the Calder Cup on my birthday years ago. I didn't think I would but I am starting to really miss hockey now :(!

Exhibit A: Maxime Ouellet & three draft picks for a month of an 85-year-old Adam Oates.

Exhibit B: The scapegoating of Roman Cechmanek.

Exhibit C: A soulless 2002-2003 season, the last year in which I renewed my Phantoms ticket plan.

I could add about eight more exhibits, but suffice it to say that when Bob Clarke gets fired, _then_ I'll consider returning to the fold. Not until. (If it's any comfort, I've only been to one Bears game and their stadium was ehhhh.)

I'll be doing the Bears vs Wolfpack game on 1/29 and then driving straight to AC to see the Boardwalk Bullies take on the Johnstown Chiefs the following afternoon.

I still need to get to a Danbury Trashers game.
