In case you want to vote for your favorite college football rivalry, here's a link to do so. It's really more of an excuse for me to pimp my beloved UofM-tOSU rivalry, but if anyone else has a rivalry they enjoy more than that one, I'd be interested to hear about it. Cal-Stanford? Florida-FSU? Auburn-Alabama? Wofford-VMI?

IMHO, there's no matching the intensity and hatred that comes with the UM-OSU game. BTW, OSU fans prepared for their loss by hitting each other…with pillows. Sickos.

I would think Auburn v Alabama would be up above OSU v Michigan. After all the dirty NCAA violations allegatoins between the two, it is more vicious.

But, I think that the Egg Bowl (Ole Miss v Miss State) is more entertaining.

Put me down for Army-Navy as #1. And has the NCAA determined who paid for those pillows? Could cost some kids some eligibility...

And as a Badger fan, it pains me to say it, but...Go Buckeyes. A pox upon your Wolverines, Reverend J Shaft! :-)

My cousin actually kicked for Army for a couple of seasons (so I've been to a few), and while each team's season is made or broken on the result, there's too much mutual respect and not enough vitriol for me to think that's #1. But usually a great game to watch.

And Thrill, I understand your stance on the Game tomorrow. Please see below for my thoughts on the outcome of the Iowa-Wisky game.

For any of you that went to one of the big rivalry schools, how did students/alumni treat each other on game day? I went to Georgia Tech, and on the day of the Georgia Tech-Georgia game, no matter how the teams were doing that year, I swear you had to watch out for your life. I think it's mostly a product of UGA fans thinking everyone outside of the SEC also acts with no class (heh heh), but it could get brutal. No one was off limits. Not even women and children. I'm talking about bumping, shoving, cursing, rude gestures, pouring beer on each other, everything. I mean, I guess it's great that people get that into it, but if I was a family man, I would never EVER take my wife or my young ones to that game.

That's BRUTAL. I don't think children are targets in the UM-OSU rivalry, but everyone else is fair game. There was a UM player (Grant Bowman) whose grandmother was physically assaulted two years ago in Columbus. I, personally, will not go to the game in Columbus with any UM paraphenalia on and we always rent a car with Ohio plates to avoid vandalism. Of course, after we win, I'll tear my sweater off to reveal my "OSU Sucks (front)- and Tressel Swallows (back)" shirt as I speed out of that dunghole.

Of course, antics like those are probably why UM fans get it so bad down there. I'm sure it happens in Ann Arbor, too, but I don't see it as much.

I went to UM and students/alumni have been both kinds: insanely violent and extremely polite.

Throw my biased vote towards the UT-A&M game as well. When one of the schools takes a shot at the other in their fight song, you have the makings of a great rivalry. Not to mention a school with a complex!

The only problem with picking that game is that the rivalry has been extremely one-sided.

I guess I'm biased since i live in Alabama, although I don't LIKE either team, just familiar with them greatly, don't know if that makes me biased or something else. But to me it is without a doubt Auburn/Alabama. I know people who have divorced because one parent is an Auburn fan and the other is an Alabama fan, and they also decided which kid stayed with which parent based on which one was an Auburn fan and which one is an Alabama fan. Sad? Yes. But it's that big of a rivalry. The team that I'm REALLY biased towards is Florida, but I admit Florida/FSU can not compete with Alabama/Auburn, Army/Navy, Texas/Texas A&M, OHio State/Michigan

My favorite rivalries were always Penn State/Pitt and Penn State/Notre Dame. Thankfully, they come back in a couple of years. I like any of the games this week, as they're not "contrived" rivalries, there's down & dirty bad blood between each team that goes beyond conference alignments. Doesn't matter if any of these teams is a national contender or already playing for next year, these games are usually more exciting than most national title games in recent memory.

Methinks Herbstreit diabolically staged that shot to put the whammy on UM, as all's fair in love and Rivalry Week. And that Iowa/Wisconsin image has made me form an involuntary mental link between that Bucky and the GameDay when Corso put on Bucky's head.

What he said. Yeah.

Also, BIG UPS to the Utah Utes for their perfect season and their all-but-official BCS party crashing. May the gods grant them a worthy opponent. (Translation: NOT the Big East champion.)

My humble aplogies. We had no running game, which left us in the not-quite-ready for prime time arm of John Stocco. *sigh*

Why the emphasis on Iowa as if it's shameful? They're a very good team and went undefeated at home this year. They also beat the hell out of Ohio State, if you remember, and won their final seven after starting 2-2.

Anyway if Wisconsin hadn't puked on their own shoes last week at Michigan State, this wouldn't be an issue.

Now we all get to watch UM in Pasadena. Thanks a lot.

You sure do. Cal is really, really going to kick our ass.

I do like that Tressel has come in and won three out of his first four since John Cooper being deathly afraid of Michigan made the rivalry get a little down in terms of me being afraid of Ohio State, like I'm supposed to be. I was this year and for very good reason. Troy Smith is going to be a good one. Santonio Holmes and Ted Ginn can just fly. Holmes burned Jackson a few times and that's something to be proud of. Now obviously I wish Tressel was 0-4, but he's brought the rivalry back to the level it belongs on.

See you next year, Buckeyes.

Are you kidding? If they DON'T get the Big East champion, how do you expect them to win? Have you SEEN their schedule this year? They beat TAMU. Whee.

Personally, that is why I would like to see Utah play one of the big boys, give them a chance to prove themselves. A weak schedule doesn't necessarily mean a team isn't very good. Oklahoma, USC, and Auburn would still be good teams even if you watered-down their schedule.

LALALALALALALALALAAA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!! Seriusly, I hadn't forgotten, but OSU kinda, well, sucked this year. They lost to *Northwestern*. *Northwestern*. That's worse than *Iowa*. That's also what makes this so damn sweet - UM lost to OSU in an OFF YEAR!!!
