I'm holding out until the 23rd....I love that 'new CD' experience. U2 is the only band I'm willing to wait this long for, and I have a whole morning planned of driving around and listening to the disc. | LionJeetSingh

| #5 Posted on 21.11.04 1900.42 Reposted on: 21.11.11 1902.42 | | U2 just utterly kicked ass on SNL last night. They played Vertigo, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own (which was the first time I've heard it, and it sounded amazing), and then in a nice touch, they played I Will Follow over the closing credits. Apparently they played a couple more songs after the show went off the air, too. Definitely the highlight of a mediocre episode (and season, frankly) of Saturday Night Live. | LionJeetSingh

U2log.com was lucky enough to be invited to the K-Rock listening party, which was held at Sony Studios at 54th and 10th in New York City this evening. We will have a full report with some photos of the band taken outside Sony Studios soon.
At the conclusion of the listening party, a member of U2’s management team pulled us aside and asked us to tell everyone whom we know (that’s you!) to be at Empire Fulton Ferry State Park at 3 pm tomorrow (Nov. 22) for a 30-minute concert by U2.
You have your official orders! Be there or miss something very special.
There will be no concert at Washington Square Park. It was the original location for the event, but on review they decided the area was too busy and not large enough to house the number of people expected at the show.
One final piece of great, official news is tickets are not required for this event.

I think it's a fantastic disc. Love and Peace Or Else and Sometimes.... are instant classics, and All Because Of You sounds like early U2 mixed in with a garage band. | Guru Zim

| #10 Posted on 25.11.04 1744.20 Reposted on: 25.11.11 1747.14 | I picked this up on iTunes on Tuesdy, and burnt it for our car trip to Northern California. We played it through two times in a row - and it would have been three times except that it was really obvious when it looped around.
Vertigo is the first song on the disc, and while I really liked it, I'm already burnt on it. Luckily, the other 10 songs are good.
Nothing really stood out, but I like every track on the disc. I think the last track is probably going to grate on me at some point though. | The Goon

The song that strikes me the most is "City of Blinding Lights." It's the one that stays in my head for most of the day. "Miracle Drug" and "Crumbs from Your Table" are also fantastic songs.
I haven't had a chance to watch the bonus DVD yet.
Does anyone know if the new CD might signal an upcoming tour? | dMp

My mother was telling me a month ago that they already said they would be touring the world again most of next year. Knowing U2 they start out in the States/Canada then do Europe, Asia/Australia and repeat that a few times. | Spiraling_Shape

I'll be surprised is "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" isn't a single. I personally think this is their best song since "One". | | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
