Don't get me wrong; I wanted Benjamin to retain the title -- it would have been too soon to take the belt away. But I just had trouble buying his victory the way they did it.
February 13, 2003: [Smackdown] Beat Eddie Guerrero March 29, 2004: [RAW] Beat Triple H April 5, 2004: [RAW] Beat Triple H (by countout) April 18, 2004: [Backlash] Beat Ric Flair May 31, 2004: [RAW] Beat Randy Orton
You can't buy him beating CHRISTIAN??
This is my point; he's too invincible. He's a decent tag team wrestler, gets separated from his partner, and then proceeds to DESTROY EVERYONE HE ENCOUNTERS! It just seems like there's no weakness to Shelton Benjamin these days; it's obvious he will win every match, no question. It's like the Monster Heel push -- where the wrestler is portrayed as some kind of immovable force -- being given to a medium-sized face.
I appreciate them actually following through with pushing someone, and I like Benjamin's ring work, but he just seems a little too unstoppable. | rlbehan

Considering the number of times we've seen a big hoss heel come in and stomp Tokyo on everyone, I'm glad to see a face get that treatement, and I'm glad it's a character defined as Shelton is and not, say, Eugene.
Look at the top faces on RAW. Benoit's getting the back-burner treatment (and aparently giving the rub to Edge) as they push Orton for WM. Jericho is all too vulnerable to a might hoss heel, and Eugene is getting KILLED on RAW pretty often. Maven and Regal are just kinda there, buzzing around the big guys but not getting their chances to put together any type of momentum.
Shelton is obviously ready to main event (with a bit of mic work) and giving him the IC belt gives him his own angle playground to rule for a while as the established RAW faces tee off against Hunter's posse.

They way I see it, both Benoit & Booker T are in the "Make a bit of retirement money by building up stars" period of their careers. Benoit had his time in the limelight, and now he's being used as supporting help for Orton. | jwrestle

| #25 Posted on 15.11.04 1529.26 Reposted on: 15.11.11 1529.44 | Snitsky and HEIDENRICH...all I can say for that segment was I've never heard so much heavy breathing, grunting, and snarling with out hearing or seeing a woman in scene moaning. Good grief...I'm going to go with that being CREEPY for now.
I think Survivor Series was a bit RUSHED...I didn't like it's flow...the matches could have been a minute or two longer. Thats coming from somebody who had a rough week last week and probably should have ordered the Japanese Hardcore Wrestling 6 on PPV Friday night.
Anyways, my take on the events...
Lita and Trish...ehh...it was fair and short. Lita was looking sorta sinster with what she did.
JBL vs Booker...Come why can we not get the strap of JBL?
Smackdown SS Match...Man Angle took the finshers...only way to end that match...only one Elimanated RVD.
RAW SS Match...Randy Orton with the RKO out of no where. He's getting better at that.
Shelton and Chirstain...that match was good. I actually relaxed and enjoyed watching it.
Cruisiers...Spike! Spike defends...yes!
Taker...giving HEIDENRICH strange looks...ok. Taker wins.
The PPV was a bit lackluster. I enjoyed for the most part and am looking foward to seeing how tonights RAW goes. | BOSsportsfan34

- The Snitsky/Heidenrich segment was gayer than anything Rico or Goldust have ever been involved in.
- Although this opinion is probably in the minority, I like Randy Orton's face push. And despite the claims of many here, Orton IS over.

Yes, but is he over enough to carry the company and be World Champ? I guess we'll find out after WM. | Jay

| #28 Posted on 16.11.04 1724.03 Reposted on: 16.11.11 1724.49 | My two lasting impressions/thoughts coming out of Survivor Series:
-all the Snitsky/Heidenreich confrontation needed was Tomko and Nathan Jones and we could have seen the debut of the dreaded Four Horsemen of Suck
-I am hoping, wishing, and praying that Angle's comments about making HBK tap out is building up to a match between them at WrestleMania (remember, the Lesnar/Goldberg story started at Survivor Series...) | ALL ORIGINAL POSTS IN THIS THREAD ARE NOW AVAILABLE |
