The sequel nobody's been waiting for. The sequel to a Jim Carrey movie from 11 years ago minus Jim Carrey (didn't we already get "Dumb and Dumberer"?) CGI Dogs and Babies. When Ben Stein is the funniest part of your trailer, you're in trouble....

They brought Ben Stein back for the sequel, but not Carrey?

They probably could pay the entire cast what it would take to get Carrey, though, which, now that I think about it surely would've MADE them a boatload of money, too. I'd think Carrey's done with Stanley Ipkiss.

I've read numerous places that Jim Carrey flat out refuses to be in sequels. The only reason he did Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls was because he was contractually obligated.

I'd say no Cameron Diaz is also a major minus.

And, from what I've read, nobody involved in the original has anything to do with the movie. That's a great way to make a sequel nobody wants to see.

also, according to imdb, the budget is at an estimated $100,000,000!!! more than 5 times the budget of the original...

All that money, and the best they could do for a female co-star is the girl from "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place?"

I can't see this movie being good, nope, not at all.

Of course, it does have the Ben Stein factor, so maybe there's some hope...

As a fan of the first one, I must say that looks horrendous. Seems more geared towards kids this time.

I really liked the first one as well, I thought it had a good mix of comedy, special effects and a good comic book story... Seems like they are putting all their eggs in the CGI basket, but without Carrey playing the lead which just suited him so well I can't see this being any good.
